TopicIs there a modern game similar to twisted metal?

I have a couple suggestions, neither of which would I say are like Twisted Metal, but they might scratch that itch.

That Mad Max game from a few years back is probably the closest thing to Twisted Metal I've enjoyed in recent memory. You get an arsenal of weapons and gadgets to employ during vehicular combat. When you're on foot, the melee combat is sort of Arkham-esque. Biggest criticisms I have is that there isn't a ton of variety in enemy types. Particularly the bosses, which are damn near palette swaps. Mission variety could've been better. Overall I found it fun.

This one is a little older and doesn't feature weapon-based combat, but in Driver: San Francisco you can use practically every car on the road as a weapon against your opponents. There's this nonsensical plot which is pretty much an excuse for allowing you to hotswap vehicles on the fly. You can be racing and take control of oncoming traffic and steer it into the competing racers. A bit like Burnout but your character is a spirit who can possess almost any NPC driver. It's ridiculous and fun.

I had Best Buy install a sound system in a car of mine years back. They forgot to reconnect the cable for the passenger side inner door handle when reassembling the door. No biggie. Easy fix, just pop the panel off and connect the cable. I'm not all that mechanically inclined but it's something that even I could do. Which is exactly who had to do it because Best Buy refused to accept responsibility for it.

I had brought the car back within days and they claimed that someone else could have broken the handle within that span of time. Door worked fine prior to the install.

Tried speaking to a manager and called corporate, but they held firm that they were not responsible and wouldn't touch the car.

If I had pulled the panel off and disconnected the speaker, and then told them that the speaker didn't work, then they would have fixed it. But if I'm going through that much trouble to subvert their failure to address an issue they caused, I may as well connect the cable. So I did.

Long story short: Fuck Best Buy.

My sister taught in Thailand and never mentioned anything like this. She says her students were eager to learn, attentive, and respectful in class. That teachers were practically revered over there. She taught there for two years and has nothing but good things to say about the whole experience.

open world, not depressing, and something fun to explore.
It's nearly a blatant rip-off of BotW, but Immortals Fenyx Rising does just enough to stand on its own and is pretty enjoyable.

I wouldn't call it a game mechanic per se, but I would love a modernized version of The Guardian Legend. Part Zelda, part scrolling shooter.

I have family on Martha's Vineyard who knew them rather well. His wife died earlier this year. The romantic in me wants to believe Mr. McCullough died from a broken heart.

the largest uptick in mass shootings started AFTER the passage of the restrictive gun control measures that disarmed law-abiding citizens.

False.

In 1994, President Bill Clinton signed an assault-weapons ban, which banned the AR-15 and other similar semiautomatic rifles.

After its ban, mass shootings were down in the decade that followed, in comparison to the decade before (1984-94) and the one after (2004-14), NPR reported in 2018.
