First time I played this game, and I love it. Definitely my favorite wordle spinoff

279 guess, 23.66% accuracy. Which is horrible, but Im extremely unfamiliar with common Wikipedia vocabulary. I went with a bunch of numbers, tried guessing years, days of the week, months, etc.

Eventually I decided to properly skim the article, saw a section with a bunch of ups and downs right next to each other and immediately thought of quarks. It was hit after hit for my last 20 guesses.

Im really excited to try this again now that I have a slightly better idea of what *not* to waste guesses on. I cant imagine uncovering the word August is going to help me ever.. idk why I even tried that shit lol

Ive worked in production manufacturing for about a decade, 7 of those years being machine operator positions. Most of my jobs have lasted for less than a year due to me regularly moving to different states until 2018.

I generally try to be actively involved with my employer, try to get my hands in as many departments as I can, get as much cross-training as I can, and get to know as many of my co-workers and bosses as I can.

I have seen many higher ups who clearly didnt deserve their positions, and plenty who were just straight up incompetent.

I have seen just as many entry-level workers who clearly didnt deserve their positions, and plenty who were just straight up incompetent.

I agree that there are a lot of high-earners who are dumb(er than Id expect), or not as skilled in their positions as Id hope. I dont believe its a high percentage though - In my opinion/experience, a large majority of managers/office workers/bosses are notably skilled and have earned their positions mainly based on their merit.

Knowing the right people is important and relevant, but I dont see all that many people getting high positions based exclusively on that.

Office politics are a thing - Most people arent going to completely cast that aside to put in a fake good word for their incompetent friend, as that will reflect poorly on themselves.

Can't quite figure out how I beat Super R-Type as a kid but I can't get past the 3rd stage as an adult >____>
Completely different game, but I was just going through this experience with Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the PS2.

I dont recall having any trouble with this game as a kid, but as an adult it took a good two dozen attempts to get through the Coruscant level (the one with all the generic Jedi Knight NPCs) on Elite difficulty. I literally rage quit at one point which is not something I often do.

I have 1tb ssd, but tell me more about it. If there's less space on the ssd, does that mean the computer will be slower? Eg I only have 400 gb space left after clearing out some content, will my pc boot slower than if it had the full 900gb - 1tb?

Also there's like, close to 100-200 gb unaccounted for and I have no idea where it is. I counted all media files and it still doesn't account for the missing 100+ gb
Typically the fullness of your hard drive wont affect the speed of your computer. There is a misconception that it does happen, but whatever speed drops youd ged from a full hard drive would be negligible, and likely only happen at around 98-99% capacity (made up numbers - Just meaning youd need like a full-full hard drive for it to affect speed).

Having 400gb free is definitely not going to be slowing your computer.

The same reason why every sitting president gets blamed for most everything that goes wrong with the economy.

Lack of education or understanding, and the urge to put blame on something easy to comprehend.

Two lame ballads, one by someone who can barely even sing, compared to a catchy bubblegum pop radio hit. Real fair comparison.
This whole thread is dedicated to comparing 22 years of music to 10.

It was meant as a joke exaggerating the tendency of pop charts in the 90s to include stuff like Mariah Carey - Objectively a phenomenal musician, but more easily skippable because Im not in the mood.

For a more fair comparison, looking at dance pop, I would also personally choose Gaga, Gomez, Lopez, Rihanna and others over the likes of Abdul, Cher, various boy bands, and Spice Girls.

All of them have songs that are easily danceable to, even if you dislike the music. But I personally find the modern stuff more creative, even if more prone to repetition.

Also pop music in the 90s was def worse than it is now

I follow The Number Ones column on Stereogum; theyre reviewing every #1 hit ever, and theyre in the 90s right now. There have been so many absolutely fucking dire power ballads and corny-ass slow jams

as time goes on people forget the trash and just have nostalgia for the good stuff
Yeah, nowadays at least I can maybe guilty pleasure with pop music.

I might cringe hard when Call Me Maybe plays (I know thats outdated but I think thats the last time Ive ever listened to FM radio), but its hard not to slightly bob your head or shake your hips because its undeniably catchy.

As opposed to, what? Nothing Compares to You? My Heart Will Go On?

I mean. The 90s has Backstreet Boys and Nsync. TLC, even. Britney Spears. But thats already like 1999 anyway so *barely* even counts, hahaha

2000s and later, no contest.

Itd be a shame to lose the 90s classics, but music has become so unbelievably diverse since then there are countless options to choose from.

I also dont personally think the modern pop-root downfalls (generic pop, mainstream country/rock/rap, etc) are accurate representations of the general music industry. There are too many absolutely phenomenal artists nowadays to give up.

When I first read this, I didnt think it was going to he that hard to answer but wow I am having a hard time.

Its been a minute since Ive listened to either album, so I kind of did a quick pass through both, listened to about the first minute of every song.

I thought one would stand out to me as far as quantity of songs that immediately hit me with the nostalgic love and memories. But then I just started singing along with all of them so

The end result is I literally cant choose. Now Im going to be listening to both of them tonight and come back to this poll later hahaha
