I've heard that the quality is based on if the owners live on the property. If they do, they have a vested interest in keeping up the property if only for themselves. I've also heard horror stories where a holdings company owns the property and lets it go to seed because no one goes to check on it. The listing looks cheap, but they price gouge the customer with a bunch of deposits and hidden fees.

Police union. Show up, do your 8 with minimal effort, clock out.

I disagree. They work shit loads of unnecessary overtime with minimal effort.

True story about my uncle who worked as a civilian maintenance man for the Sheriff's Department. The gates at a cell block shorted out and he had to come in on Christmas morning to fix them. When he got there a jail guard confronted him and chewed him out for working on Christmas. He told my uncle that the overtime money was meant for deputies who risked their lives to keep people like my uncle safe.

My uncle interrupted the deputy and told him that he didn't really want to be there. He wouldn't mind going home so that he could open gifts with my two cousins. The deputy could descend two flights of stairs and walk a football field's length to open each cell manually with his keys if he wanted. That shut the deputy up.

I predict there will be an episode of "Blue Bloods" where Magnum PI and Marky Mark stop a grade school shooting from happening. Their choice to wait two hours until going in will be treated as the right decision, causing a strawman minority community activist who wanted them to engage the shooter to eat crow. Afterward, the dynamic duo will retire to the family dinner table where they'll bitch about how civilians don't respect cops while alluding to the Texas tragedy.

Joan Crawford would throw huge birthday and Christmas parties for her 10 year old daughter that she would invite all the press to attend. Then to make herself look good, she would have her daughter announce that all her toys that she received would be donated to an orphanage. As a result, Crawford's daughter never gott any toys for her birthday or Christmas when she was a child.

This was a plot point to a Hallmark movie my neighbor was watching. A widow had her husband and both her children die in an accident and so she turned from God. The Pollyanna heroine renewed her faith by convincing her that God was testing her and that she was disappointing both God and her dead family by turning against him. IRL, I would have thought that argument would have increased the widow's hatred for God.

Bachelor Party - It's a sex comedy and Tom Hanks first starring movie role.
Once Bitten - Jim Carey sex comedy about vampires and his first starring role.
The Last American Virgin - Dramedy that is too fucking true to life.
Valley Girl - Nicholas Cage's first major role. Also topless EG Daily (voice actress of Tommy Pickles)

I think the only two that could be considered cult classics are The Last American Virgin and Valley Girl. The other two are fun but average.

If she ever gets into a fight, teachers are instructed to call the cops instead of getting involved. Otherwise the story quickly becomes, "teacher hurt student while school stood by."

Supposedly, this was common in certain Southern states before Roe v Wade. Evidence had to be collected so that a court could determine if the miscarriage had been induced or not.

Keep in mind that all Anakin/Padme scenes/dialogue were written by George Lucas, which explains how awkward and nonsensical a lot of them are.

George Lucas comes from a time when audiences didn't empathize with faceless minions dying or question the socioeconomic motives that brought a henchman to work for the fleshed out main antagonist. They were merely targets. You just have to see an old episode of Johnny Quest where they are gleefully killing tribesmen, Communists, and henchmen to see that in action. Lucas forgot that times have changed. What was once standard behavior audiences expected from the heroes is now interpreted as signs of sociopathy.

I was so disappointed in not having enough marzipan flavor that I made my own marzipan icecream.

I have a ton of homemade marzipan I freeze for baking. I added some of the still hot custard ice cream base to the marzipan chunks and blitzed it in a food processor. I then added it back to the icecream base and dyed it green. After making the ice cream, I swirled in some raspberry preserves.

I called my made up icecream flavor "Princess Cake". It had a very strong rich marzipan flavor, but the mouth feel was slightly chalky. I blame it on the almonds that I used in the marzipan not being ground fine enough.
