Why do some men have such high, strict standards when it comes to how women look while some men have much broader standards? What is the difference between these two?

Men want beauty, women want social status.

Everyone likes tall, handsome guys. The only reason a woman wouldn't want to date a tall handsome guy is because she's concerned about him being way better looking than her. Likewise, even short guys are attracted to women taller than him, but wouldn't pursue them because he is concerned about being shorter than her.

No woman wants to date a weak man. In fact, a man's attractiveness to women hinges on her perception of his personal strength. A man could manifest his strength in many ways: he could be financially powerful (rich), physically powerful (tall or strong), socially powerful (confident), intellectually powerful (smart or witty), morally powerful (good), politically powerful (highly positioned), etc.; but unless you respect and admire him for his strength, however it is manifested, you will not be attracted to him. Even the best-looking man in the world will be rejected by women once they realize he isweak.

Dating a guy better looking than you is equivalent to a guy dating a girl who is smarter than him. It robs him of much of his power. Men know that it is their role to be the more powerful one in the relationship. They want to feel needed - it gives them purpose.


A man needs to feel admired and respected in a relationship in the same way that a woman needs to feel adored and desired. A woman's traditional role is to be the mother of the couple's children, and in order to fulfill that role she needs to be beautiful and radiant enough to attract her man - to make him want her sexually. A man who feels powerless in a relationship is like a woman who feels undesired in a relationship.

Alternatively, imagine how it would feel to date a man who was far more physically attractive than you. I don't mean more attractive "for a man;" I mean more attractive absolutely. Imagine he is tall, incredibly handsome, has the perfect physique and dresses impeccably. You, on the other hand, are slightly out of shape, haveaged faster, aren't the best looking woman in the world, don't really dothe whole "make up thing"well, and can never seem to pull off "stylish." Now imagine walking into a party on this man's arm. Heads turn from every direction as you walk in, but to take in his beauty - not yours. You are barely noticed. This is how a man of inferior intelligence can feel in the presence of a woman who is much smarter than him.

This why I think a woman shouldn't date a man better looking than her, likewise, a man shouldn't date a woman smarter than him.

A woman's league is just looks/personality.


If you take Justin Bieber, remove his fame, remove his money, remove his musical talent, you would get an ordinary guy with a dramatically shrunken dating pool. I think Bieber could have sex with his fan girls if he wanted to. As a man builds upon his status, his dating pool increases to attract women who are below his level in social status. As in order to attract a woman, he must be equal or superior to her, given women's hypergamous nature.

If you take Ariana Grande, remove her fame, remove her money, and musical talent, I think a lot of men would still be chasing her. No, even more men would chase her, 50 or 100x more, as her lowered social status would give men the green light to pursue her. Ariana Grande's high social status, or any woman's social status, weeds out the lesser men who are below her level, and attracts the men above her level. But she is still technically competing with all other 9/10 women who are below her level. The more "feminine" woman with low status has many many more men to choose from than the "masculine" accomplished woman.

I bet a middle class or lower ranking guy would be very content with his poor, 9/10 girlfriend instead of Ariana Grande, because if you measure their attractiveness, they are pretty much worth the same. Which supports my point. A woman's social status means shit. Ariana Grande is hardly more attractive than any other 9/10 woman with a nice personality.

We know sluts are, but what about men?

Are we unattractive because we play video games or do we play video games because we're unattractive?

How do men convince themselves they don't want a 9/10? Is it a sour grapes thing?
