My downward spiral began when I was depressed about something and I think I was trying to numb the feeling. Usually when I was down, alcohol would also help me feel more confident about myself, even when I was by myself (Most people feel like shit when they get drunk by themselves). However, I'm not depressed anymore, but will still binge hard for several days in a row sometimes. For me personally, those binges are a lack of willpower. I could easily not binge on those days if I found something else to keep me distracted Congrats on taking the road to recovery But yeah, my dad's side of the family has been ravaged by alcoholism and I wonder if it's a susceptibility to the thing itself or more symptomatic of other underlying issues. Depression is also strong on that side too, and it's something I've gone through but never found substances did anything to help with, so perhaps both of the above are factors and are especially dangerous in combination. --- The fully enlightened earth radiates disaster triumphant |

But at the same time I can understand how it's a red flag that there might be something insufficient in the relationship and that it might result in her either ending it herself or cheating. I mean look at blues music, it has strong roots in African music but as well the music of Europe, particularly Gaelic psalms from Scotland. In turn, the blues itself has been massively influential on the course of music in America. Where would we be if we started to claim music by culture? It just comes down to being strategic about exactly what you eat. Rather than just eating veggies you should also incorporate things like legumes and cereals in every meal, an example of which would be chickpeas and rice, respectively. That gives you a broader range of coverage. I used to bulk on a vegan diet no problem, just ate a lot of the above combination and stuff like peanut butter sandwiches. Another pointer I would give you is to be aware of your b12 levels - you'll definitely want to supplement that.
