I wouldn't say it's a meme. People in general become overemotional when it comes to cases like this. Especially anything that involves a child being harmed. Probably plenty of people in real life hoping he'll be put to death or maimed just like people in here are suggesting.

And there's always the cost possibly being an issue.

yeah god forbid anyone points out the huge flaws in this game. enjoy paying 20 bucks for the dlc to unlock hard difficulty & basic map features. oh and btw even after you do the hard as nails trial of the sword to power up the master sword it still fucking breaks

The master sword doesn't really break. It just becomes unavailable for 10 minutes while it recharges.

What is the point of that wait time? Like does it exist just because they put so much time in designing other weapons they want to force to players to appreciate them?

I think they just wanted to go all or nothing in regards to weapons breaking. But the Master Sword obviously can't break, so they just put it on a cooldown. I don't necessarily think it should have one, but I also don't think it really matters since the Master Sword is completely outclassed by a number of other weapons in the game. The Master Sword's niche is killing Guardians, which it's very good for. But I've never found a reason to use it on any other enemy.

Upgraded Master Sword "breaks" after 200 hits. It's basically how it is whenever you would be near Malice-effected enemies. That still makes it by far the best one-handed weapon in the game, and almost OP. Making it completely unbreakable would just break everything.

Eh I think balance is kind of thrown out the window as soon as you get Urbosa's Fury anyway.

No, but you find a ton of weapons just by playing the game. When I played through it, I was hurting for inventory space more so than I was due to weapons breaking.

I see. Do weapons mostly have the same movesets? Cause it would really suck if a weapon you like more than others breaks and you can't find another one for a while.

Yeah there's three main categories of melee weapons.

One-handed: Short reach, but you can use your shield
Two-handed: Most powerful type of weapon, but also the slowest attacks
Spears: Long reach, quick attacks, but has the lowest power of all melee weapons

There's also boomerangs, which can be thrown or used in melee. And elemental rods which can fire projectiles when you swing them.

The elemental weapons are probably the most unique ones and the type of weapon you'd be most afraid of losing. Each type of melee weapons gets one of fire, ice, and electric. But their locations in the world are static, so it's not too difficult restocking on them either.

My first Dishonored 2 run was a ghost/clean hands/ no powers run

And it was both surprisingly fun and surprisingly easy.

That said, that bit where you get back on the railway and there are witches outside is ridiclously hard with ghost + no powers.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't say it's difficult. Same with the first Dishonored. I thought the hardest part was the first mission, simply because you have no powers and no crossbow.

Thief is so fucking amazing you should play all except the new one because that one sucks

What I played of Dishonored was fun but it has a serious problem: 99% of the cool abilities in the game involve killing, but the game punishes killing with worse and worse endings based on how much killing you did

What's wrong with getting "bad" endings? As someone who actually likes the story of Dishonored, I never actually cared about what ending I got. I like killing people in Dishonored, so I'm going to kill people regardless of how the story plays out. I don't think the first Dishonored is very fun if your aim is to go non-lethal because as you said, most of your options are meant for killing. Dishonored 2 really fixed that issue though. I still think the game is at its most fun when you're loud and lethal, but at least the other approach is more than just spamming Blink and choking guards out.

For both games I'd suggest two runs.

1 stealthy no kill, first time. For the challenge and fun

and then after you beat the level play it again a second time as a mass murderer; Now you know where everything is lunatic bananas run.

Doesn't take long either as both games are so short if you go in guns blazing.

Yeah I agree, it's worth playing at least twice. I've played through both of the games about three times each. Ghost/Clean Hands in the first game felt more like just something to do for the achievements. Ghost/Clean Hands in Dishonored 2 was actually fun. There are very few video games that I find worth playing more than once, and Dishonored 1 and 2 managed to be some of them.
