Riddler trophies aren't worth the effort so don't do them if you don't want to.

It's been a long time since I played Asylum, but City is surprisingly jam-packed with details despite being a decently large game. You won't find new gadgets or anything, but there's a lot of things that are just interesting to see that you may stumble upon. But besides that the campaign takes you everywhere for both games.

Origins is really empty so don't worry about exploring there.

Knight is also pretty meh on the details, they made the game really big but there's no purpose to it besides 'batmobile go long time.'

The game was so bad on PC upon release that they took it off the store until they got it 'playable.' If you just started and already have serious issues, I would get a refund. There's a lot of hardware it doesn't play nice with

The village chief didn't die and there's not that much emotional impact for Darmani because his grave is already finished and his ceremony/funeral already happened. There's few actual NPCs and they all either say "oh my god baby shut the fuck up" or "oh darn Darmani died." In general I think you're really overstating the Chief/son thing because all that really happens is that the baby's crying because the chief left for a while. You can find the chief perfectly safe and sound (although still old obviously) and tells you he's stepping down from position of Elder after you let the spring thaw happen.

If the whole thing is supposed to be about the Elder failing then again it's a pretty empty chapter of the game because the Elder has like 3 dialogue boxes in the required part of it and nothing really happens besides him being comically frozen in the ice.

I felt absolutely no impact from "Darmani refusing to die." He has exactly ONE line about "Please magical one, return me to life!" and then immediately afterwards, "or just relieve my suffering whatevs" and you play the Song of Healing and he's fine.

City > Asylum > Origins > Knight

Knight fucking sucks, and it's even worse on PC because IIRC it's still not totally optimized.

May as well start with Asylum because both it and City are fantastic games and Asylum happens first (there's a little bit of plot connection between the two). Origins has less detail and perhaps worse level design but is still fun.

Knight is just City/Origins but a thousand times worse. It takes a step back in Predator Rooms, combat flow, and mission structure. It really is that bad.

That's not even mentioning the Batmobile, which although is not awful by itself, the Battank is totally unnecessary but is still crammed in everywhere possible. I mean, shit, it's a game about flying through the city. If you upgrade your cape to max, you are faster in the air than in the Batmobile. But they wanted the Batmobile to be so important to the game that it's basically been perma-assigned to one of the buttons IIRC.

It's been too long since I played NSMB1 so I can't compare and I was super young but I do remember really enjoying a couple aspects

fighting bowser right off the bat and him coming back
The boss of World 7 is the only one I particularly remember besides Bowser, but it was really cool to fight a tank as Mario. However the game basically lets you skip it because they placed an easily accessible Mega Mushroom that lets you kill the boss in like one hit
Beating the final World 8 castle only for the giant bridge to come up leading to the super castle

I'm playing Majora's Mask right now. Just got through the Snowy area. The First 3 Days was kino and Deku Temple was fun, but I fucking hated the snow shit. There was almost nothing to do and dungeon was just fucking cumbersome.
