N64 controller is total shit; always was, always will be.

The Switch pro controller is the best controller I've ever handled in my life. No idea why anyone would bash it, unless they've never laid hands on one before and just are salty about the console in general.

PS: N64 is now down to 1. Kill it please, so I can leave this thread satisfied.

If the switch came with a pro controller in the box then that would be fair. But it doesn't, and I don't rate the joy-cons.

Call of Duty 4's "Mile High Club" was a bitch for me to finish after doing the entire campaign on veteran. Took me damn near 500 tries, but I got all the achievements. I played it on the 360, so it wasn't technically a Platinum trophy.

360 > PS3

One < PS4

Lol I beat it on veteran too, back before the game had trophy support. I have never been closer to breaking a control than mile high club on veteran :/

Now that it has trophies I can't bring myself to do it again lol, but I've got the plat for a couple other cods.

The only Platinum I've earned was for Star Wars Battlefront (PS4). Some of the trophies take a bit of grinding, some are luck-based (get first kill in multiplayer match, take down an AT-AT using a T-47 snowspeeder, complete a Survival match on Master difficulty without using a life, and get hit on the head with a rock dropped by an Ewok are probably the hardest)

Yeah the trampling people with an at-st is holding me back from that one lol

I have some brutally hard ones under my belt. Metal Gear Rising stands out as one of the toughest. Rogue Legacy, surprisingly enough, was up there as well.

Vanquish was very manageable except for the tactical challenges. the final one is asinine. if the 'god hard' difficulty had been required, who knows if I would have ever done it.

Vanquish was awesome but I got scared off from going for the platinum lol

My hardest would probably be shadow of the colossus because of those horrible time attack fights, and the damn lizards. With titanfall 2 as a close second because of that time trial in the tutorial

But grindy would probably go to last of us for all the multiplayer needed... like 80 hrs if you do it right

Hardest? Probably 3D Dot Game Heroes. One of the trophies requires completing nearly all of the game's sidequests (some of which are missable, and one of which is two stupidly hard race minigames) on a single playthrough; another requires you to complete the entire game as a character that dies in a single hit.

Time-consumiest? Skyrim, probably.

Grindiest? Trails of Graces f. One of the trophies - maxing out the Eleth mixer - is stupidly grindy (as in, even though I was trying to increase it while playing, I had gotten every other trophy and was only about ~60% done with that one).

You must have loved 3d dot game heroes to go thru with that, or have horrible ocd lol

Longest: one piece Pirate warriors 3. All but one trophy are under 40 hours, last one is probably around 100 hours

FFX is Sakaguchi -- his last game for the series. I consider it the last truly good Final Fantasy, though FFXII might have been up there if Matsuno had been allowed to finish it his way.

FFXIII is pure Nomura -- superficially pretty, but ultimately hollow, empty.

Nomura was just the character designer for xiii, you're probably thinking of Toriyama who directed it

I started way back with 4 in 1991. But to me FFX is where the series lost itself. I didn't care much for the setting or characters. I hated the lack of world map, and how everything was just a linear hallway. The grid system wasn't all that interesting, and combat and weapons didn't require much thought. I just kept Titus with the Brotherhood for the whole game and never had any problems.

The voice acting by modern standards is pretty shitty. But back then it was good enough given the only really competition in voice acting back then was MGS 1-2.

The game was great looking, and certainly flashy. But it lacked character and charm to me. FFIX really spoiled me on that.

I actually think X was the peak of the series when it came to the story and overall game.... but IX is my personal favourite, character and charm is a perfect way to describe IX

For example the strict, cult like traditions of Yevon and how it it all turns out to be a fraud, perpetuated by the very guy they are worshiping



The aeon Sin represents disaster, all that is unknown. The simple people of Spira just know that Sin attacks cities occasionally when they get too big. They dont know why, so they revere him as a deity that must be appeased.


Realistically Sin is just a powerful aeon created to limit the population and growth of cities controlled by a powerful Wizard but its not until the very end of the game that they realize this and their entire lives and traditions were fraudulent.

Almost like the game was saying something about traditions and religions in real life. Thats not even to mention the rampant corruption in the hierarchy itself and the fact that most of them are more interested in keeping Yevon alive than actually getting rid of Sin

I haven't played it in so long but this makes me so nostalgic about the game

I don't think I even picked up on half the themes when I was younger

XIII is okay but quite uninteresting characters tbh. It felt like a soap opera at times. But I actually liked the combat... especially for boss fights.

X is amazing, and a brilliant game.
