They just chose to add NEW ads that disrupt the website. We're talking ads in the middle of the screen. Ads to the sides of the screen. Pop ups in corners of the screen playing sounds. This is not something to report, this is something they did

I know. It's nothing new though. Not even remotely.

It's only hick country towns and small cities that keep this state red.

So when you ask a programming question online, it's really bad etiquitte to end the topic with a "never mind" or something similar. It doesn't make much of a difference on CE where the topic will be gone in a few days, but there cpuld always be someone else with your exact problem searching google, and there's nothing more soul-crushing than finding that exact problem but the solution is never given, especially when it's clear that the problem actually was resolved.

Even if it seems like a really dumb rookie mistake, make sure you mention what you did that fixed it. Nothing to be embarrassed about; you never stop making those dumb missing semicolon or = instead of == mistakes, no matter how experienced you get.

Not really. It just looked that way with Nintendo deliberately understocking retailers to falsify a sense of high demand

Everyone says this but I can not for the life of me figure out what it would accomplish.

Yay everyone thinks everyone wants one.

I mean if they did it for a week or two and then released a million of them, that would make a little bit of sense. But what's the point of making everyone want one if you're not even making enough for the people that genuinely wanted one before you tricked everyone else anyway? They didn't raise the price, so it's not that.

The only explanation that makes sense is that they just have no clue what they're doing.

One time Nintendo built a house.

They grabbed some plywood and started nailing it together. They didn't really know how to keep it on the ground so they decided to put a rock on top of it. Then one of the guys hit his thumb with a hammer. So they rushed him to the grocery store and asked for a paralegal. Despite being informed they needed a doctor at the hospital, Nintendo proceded to grab a floppy disk and rub it over his ankle. They were going to then return to building the house, but they couldn't find it. So they just discontinued the whole thing.

Firstly there's no argument in this topic, secondly only TC used millenial as an attack on anyone.

An argument as in a point of discussion. I don't even know how anyone implied millenial was an insult or what relevance that has to any potential explanation of what your statement meant, which remains ungiven.

Well for one, it depends on the water. It's a lot harder to swim in fresh water than salt of chlorine water.

For another, maybe some people panic and exhale all their air and go completely limp.

How leads to why. "How does fire exist?" Through oxygen and elements and blah blah. "Why does that stuff exist to make fire?" Because it just does. The question of "why" is ultimately meaningless. The question of "how" allows us to navigate and bend reality to our will, to a very limited extent.

Depends on what you're asking about. The question "why" can do a lot for you, if you're asking about the right topic.

Good luck in convincing the staff that it is their job and their job alone to police the ads on GameFAQs and not the users'.

What exactly is expected of users? You ask on the help boards and they pretend it's just you. Meanwhile if you look around, you can't throw a rock any direction without it breaking a window of a topic complaining about it.

So long as internet advertising is "copy/paste this snippet of javascript into your page", there's no way to actually have any control on what the ads are.

I think the question is why are they allowing advertisers the use of javascript instead of just being images.

Which come to think is a terrible idea for so many more reasons anyway

Mother f***in Proto Man!

This reminds me. I made a personal running gag once when I was testing out an online chat system I had made. Just to have something to talk about in my simulated three-way convsesation I had each participant act all superior about their favorite Mega Man character.

John: Mega Man is the Man!
Joe: Naw man Bass is the best!
Dave: PROTOMAN DAMMIT

I don't know why but for some reason that cracked me up so much that in all my future tests O would have somebody just out of the blue yell "PROTOMAN DAMMIT"

I'm easily amused, you see.
