Then Days of Ruin made the final stage pretty fucking hard. It felt like you had to do it perfectly for the first few turns or else you'd get bogged down for ages, and Caulder is like the strategy game version of an SNK boss with how nuts his bonuses are.

For the game in general, I felt like it did an amazing job at being darker and more mature, but not overly so and still has plenty of the quirky humor the previous games did. I felt like the goal of weakening the effects of COs was accomplished to make strategy more important than popping a limit break and destroying most of your enemy's units in a single turn.

i'm upset they didnt make a follow up to days of ruin. i really liked that game

When I beat the final boss and realised the ending was kicking in, I was just thinking "is that it?"

this is exactly how i feel. and i was about to say act 5 was relatively awesome but i thought there would be another act for revenge where all hell breaks loose or somethin but no. agh. i mean acts 3-5 were a lot of fun and it was nice seeing baird and cole again for 5 seconds. that ending was just super abrupt

looking forward to playing insane mode and horde though. and if multiplayer is anything like gears 3 im sure ill pour a ton of hours into it

there's a pleasant little surprise at the end of act 4 (that you can probably guess) that makes it all worth it. but yeah i found the new characters extremely bland as well, especially JD and Kait. i miss the extreme bromance vibe of the first 3 games

the bromance is what made the games for me. i mean obv the gameplay is incredible but they made me really care about the characters. these guys are introduced too suddenly to care about nearly as much. and im gonna guess the surprise is baird? im on act 4 ch 5 right now, think it's the last one
