That law basically said teachers and staff at public schools can't be forced to used a preferred pronoun. Which isn't what the tweet says but I'm not surprised some chud couldn't be bothered to care about getting it right. It is still a garbage law made to protect bigots, like most of the ones they pass here.

lol we are forced to see pride month and people have enough of it!

Over on the other side of the Treasure Valley they set up a private pride event and the City of Nampa, ID made a big stink about it

https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/idaho-press/canyon-county-pride-nampas-response-controversy/277-ad1fcf73-9673-4c4a-bcca-0f0c2a4b64ff

According to the release, Lakeview Park had been reserved by the Pride festival for June 9 from 1-4 p.m. The news release added that, The use of the park by this group is not an endorsement of their message or views by the City of Nampa.

The release cited constitutional freedoms as the reason that Nampa must recognize the protected first amendment rights of those scheduling and involved in this event.

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling said that the city received complaints alleging that the Nampa City Council and mayors office were the ones that approved the event. Instead, Kling clarified that park rentals fall under the Nampa Parks and Recreation Department.

While this event does not reflect the personal beliefs and convictions of myself, the Nampa City Council, and many living in Nampa who have already reached out to us requesting it be canceled, the advice of our legal counsel was that the City of Nampa must recognize the protected first amendment rights of those scheduling and involved in this event, Kling was quoted as saying in the release.

Idaho's current politics are some of the worst I've ever seen in the US since I was born.

I live here and they interviewed the bar owner and some patrons on the local news.

You can visibly see their faces contort as they try to come up with an explanation for their support of this without saying the quiet part out loud. They wanted to so badly to go off the deep end into a rant about "the gays". At the end of the news show they always throw up tweets that people post during the airtime and that episode got so many tweets shitting over the newscaster for having the absolute nerve to go out and ask questions at the bar.

Also it's located in Eagle, ID which basically confirms every person that is going there (including the owner) fled from CA within the last 5 years.

edit: just read the article which confirmed the owner is from CA not that I needed anyone to tell me that

Thats not how it works. People arent going to switch to Trump over Palestine, theyre going to get disillusioned with politics and stay home.

Republicans being worse is meaningless. Everyone left leaning expects them to be shit.

Democrats are expected to meet some bare minimum criteria. Everyone expected Biden to support Israel, but not to the point of funding and enabling their genocide. That is going to disillusion some people and make them stay home. Period.

We're at a point where if he were to stop providing support to Israel he'd start losing pro-Israel voters. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't and his internal polling probably has been telling him it's less harmful to his chances if he keeps the pro-Israel votes. I'd guess his more recent actions of withholding a shipment to Israel tells us his numbers are slipping more than anticipated and he needed to do something to make it look like he is taking action. He's walking a tightrope.

No doubt.

The SC should also be expanded to 12/13 judges, not because it would help Dems (obviously it would), but because each judge is supposed to preside over a circuit and currently a few of them have 2.

The 13th is a federal circuit, so I'd be fine with accepting 12 for the conventional reason they exist.

Unfortunately, no Dem will expand it because of timidity/"seeming political" and Republicans will probably expand it next time they get in just to show they don't give a fuck about anything except securing their power.

Would they need a 2/3 majority vote to do this? I could see why it's never getting done in that case.

The matter went to arbitration for an entire year, ending with the employee getting re-hired and the company having to pay his salary back for the year he was unemployed. Because it was his first time getting in trouble they weren't allowed to fire him at the time according to the union rules.

This kind of thinking is why flat earthers still exist. The human brain gets locked into this paranoia mode where instead of accepting it was wrong instead everything becomes a conspiracy.

I've bought 2 cars from different companies/dealers in the last year and the common denominator between the two was that the financing office is where you get shafted the hardest. You'll have a car at a price you're fine with and then you go in thinking you'll sign the papers and they hand you a laptop that asks you about your driving habits and then they hard sell you on upgrades or packages using your own answers against you ("you said you drive on gravel sometimes so you definitely need our protective coating, wouldn't want your paint dinged would you?")

If you can get past that part it's not bad at all imo at least compared to like 10+ years ago.

Golf. There's only so many available courses and tee times so too many people playing literally prevents existing players from being able to play. Also there's been a surge of frat bro culture finding its way into the game. I don't think golf needs to be super strict and stingy per se but when you've got guys that come in and get wasted blasting music and starting drunken fights it's not good for the game. It's been getting worse since covid when golf was one of the few activities you were allowed to do during lockdown. A ton of new people starting playing which is good but now most courses are super crowded as a result.

Cities force home builders to create HOAs for new neighborhoods now because they don't want to/can't afford to foot the bill for long term infrastructure maintenance (roads, etc...) in these neighborhoods that are way outside of the city so they are pushing that responsibility to the neighborhoods through HOAs.

So going forward any new homes will more likely than not be in an HOA.
