lovely_boy90 08/30/25 6:04:29 PM #2 | Go to the corner opposite the safehouse of Grove Street, behind the houses. There's a pistol there. Climb on Sweet's house and jump onto his neighbours roof. There's a machine pistol there. Make a habit of getting those each time you come to Grove Street and after you save and you'll have plenty of ammo. --- Boomshakalaka |

lovely_boy90 08/18/25 3:29:41 AM #37 | _____Cait posted... Stop listening to these people, TC. Their gut reaction to just get rid of her is ridiculous. I'm aware I may be suffering from 'you're so vain, I bet you think this post is about you' so I want to double check. There were no other posters in between us though so I'm lead to think that way. If I misunderstand, my bad. Neither of my posts said to get rid. In fact they said the opposite, to locate what's going wrong and find a way to turn the situation around and heal. Edit: I just saw your last paragraph after your edit. I agree entirely with that. I would only add that she IS actually abusing him from the descriptions given so far. --- Boomshakalaka |

lovely_boy90 08/18/25 2:59:19 AM #35 | Hexenherz posted... Actually almost broke down over it. If you're feeling it then live it. Break down, own your emotions and let her see it. How she reacts will be enlightening and will show you what you need to see. Then my wife tells me I should just go leave her for someone nice like the lady at REI. There you go, this isn't so much about you as it is about she feels about her self. It's easier for her to point the finger at you than it is to self-examine. I'm getting over it This is dangerous my friend. You don't deserve to be treated this way and you shouldn't start accepting it as the norm. I'm exhausted. She complained Out of interest, did you have a mother (or a grandmother or another woman who had responsibility for raising you) who tried to motivate you by causing you pain? That's what I found when I started to get help, that I had internalised the abuses of my past and unconsciously kept putting myself in situations to relive them. lovely_boy90 08/17/25 4:05:59 AM #29 | Hexenherz posted... I don't want to say "that's it", but that's it. Expected this answer. She's projecting. You have to overachieve to make up for her underachievement. She's most likely bullying herself internally the same way she bullies you (and unfortunately how she probably bullies your kid too). She's taking advantage of your good nature and you're permitting it. The worst part in this is the example you're both setting for your child. You're role models and your kid will follow your lead. They'll learn these behaviours and emulate. The good news is this can be pretty quickly turned around and it's in your control to do so. You're gonna have to be calm in the face of confrontation however. You're already venting and talking a little about your feelings here though so you're ready to start nurturing a more positive environment for your family. Quietly lead by example. I went through a similar thing earlier in my marriage so I have a well of experience to speak from. I made some adjustments, became more honest (with myself and how I communicated outwardly) and my marriage has been getting better year after year since. Not all of my experiences will apply to you of course but feel free to ask questions or talk things through, even if it's just an avenue to practice speaking freely. --- Boomshakalaka |

lovely_boy90 08/04/25 2:17:10 AM #2 | I was loving my recent play through of New Vegas (second play through, returning after ten years or so. Topic | Parent divorce arc ongoing. No idea how to respond to my mom's texts |
lovely_boy90 07/08/25 10:43:31 AM #19 | Doe posted... Now this morning she texted me that "I am welcome to attend" her counseling session with her if I want. Then she followed up that "she knows I am working, she has another session next week, so I can plan to take some time off". I feel like this is inappropriate to ask of me She no longer has her husband to bounce thoughts/emotions off of so you're the next 'man of the house' that she's going to for that. Has she always tended to seek approval before taking an action? Edit: This comes across as very gendered but I'm really talking about archetypes and roles. 'Man of the house' just seemed like the best phrase to embody the chain of command so to speak. --- Boomshakalaka |
Topic | I don't know what I would do to fix NBA basketball. Do you? |
lovely_boy90 05/15/25 5:30:16 AM #10 | The increase in 3pt attempts isn't a cause, it's an effect. The emphasis on five out and spacing the floor has got defences rotating over greater distances, making it far more likely the open man will be spotting up at the arc. So then you shoot it or attack the close out ad nauseum. I'd like to see is them tightening up footwork and travelling to bring it in line with FIBA. The NBA has always been lax on this but now you have to do something ludicrously obvious to get called. --- Boomshakalaka |

Topic | The "everything is your fault" philosophy makes no sense. |
lovely_boy90 04/16/25 10:40:46 AM #5 | You're both missing the point. The point is that the responsibility is not severable i.e. you are both jointly responsible for the whole and separate apportionments can never be determined. Everything you do feeds into the ecosystem of the relationship so the key to the philosophy is: 1) taking responsibility for what you, personally, feed in. 2) taking responsibility for how you respond to what is presented back to you. --- Boomshakalaka |
Topic | The foreshadowing in Bleach was great. Spoilers |
lovely_boy90 04/11/25 9:12:18 AM #31 | To me what makes Zaraki's development so interesting is how it reverses the usual zanpakuto dynamic. Usually a soul reaper is trying to win the acceptance of, and then subjugate, their sword. But for Zaraki his sword is desperate to be his friend and win him over. Then there's the whole psychological aspect of boys, whose female nurturing influences don't embrace the boy's power/talent (because they feel threatened by it), ending up learning to live within themselves. It all circles around until the 'mother' is able to accept and embrace the boy's full nature, then both he and she are free. --- Boomshakalaka |
Topic | Has Limp Bizkit aged extremely badly? |
lovely_boy90 04/06/25 3:24:39 AM #48 | Everyone in the band, except Durst, is extremely talented. Since their second album they've had phenomenal engineers getting the best out of their sound. Like others have said here their instrumentals are fantastic. Durst is cringe and inherently unlikable just by his delivery and performance style. BUT the rest of the band are so good the average output overall is still good to me. I've always been a fan, even after taking a break and coming back to them as I got older. Yeah sometimes I wish Durst would just shut the fuck up. I think I kinda like Durst how you sometimes like a cowardly heel in wrestling, our Dastardly from Wacky Races. --- Boomshakalaka |

lovely_boy90 03/26/25 10:52:33 AM #6 | Starks posted... Doesn't this kind of fall on deaf ears when Israel is going to trample on any kind of Palestinian self-determination that emerges to replace Hamas? Anyone feel free to correct me here, haven't Israel played an active part in keeping Hamas' influence and power within Palestine because it's in Israel's interests to keep the relationship adversarial? They know Hamas will always be antagonistic so Israel will always have grounds (not necessarily reasonable but perceivable) for action. --- Boomshakalaka |

lovely_boy90 04/01/24 6:22:30 PM #30 | Liquid had the dominant genes. Demonstrated by him having dark hair that got bleached by living out in the desert sun all of his youth.
Solid had the recessive genes. Demonstrated by him having blonde hair in the briefing tapes. He asks for hair dye so he doesn't get confused for Liquid. The game is about nature/nurture. Liquid was genetically superior, hence why he survives fucking everything but FoxDie, but he was always told he was a little bitch. This meant he could never embrace his gifts and maintained a victim complex which held him back. Solid however had no personal ambitions and he always went along with what others recommended. He was put in situations repeatedly that he wasn't prepared for and he always barely scraped through. This cemented his resolve and self-belief and allowed him to shake off others' expectations. This lead to him growing beyond what people thought possible. Be a slave to destiny or learn to be your own man. --- Boomshakalaka |
