I remember coming up with that solution when my wife found that game cause all 3 of us became obsessed with it , saw the enormous time sink and looked up cheats for it like using gameshark in final fantasy or pokemon and make everything meaningless so everyone can move on, cause that game really plays on the part of your brain that enjoys mindless grinding, it sucks you in and won't let go (kinda like opium actually) my wife still plays it for some odd reason, like clears it every 1 to 2 years and still plays a new file

It was never against the rules to just give out a code.

Making a topic on a game board like "500th poster gets a code" or what-not was generally viewed as off-topic or a spam type of thing since the thread wasn't about the game and ended up just being spammed until someone wins the code. I'm going to assume if you were moderated for giving out a code it was something like that.

It was CE , I never really tried for a 500 topic it was a first to ask gets it topic, cause alot of times people wouldn't reply to my topics for whatever reason, people cared more about grammar then.
I'm trying to think of what it was they categorized the moderation as..
I think it was something like asking/begging but could be wrong.. feels like there used to be older policies that have been lost to time.
Maybe watching shin chan will help me remember

Frankly, I'm always hesitant to believe any cries of "Mod abuse! Mod abuse!" due to how frequently that's said by people who 100% deserved what they got.

(To be clear, Im not accusing Joe of falling under this.)

That being said, there have been moderators who abused their power in the past. It's not impossible that some did so in the early days, especially when the site was more immature all around.

My experiences i am talking about all would have happened in 2000 to 08/9ish and thank you for being civil
