I do agree that language is fluid, but there's a level of prestige and legacy with a traditional language. Lawyers prefer the former as their livelihood depends on multiple interpretations (or misinterpretations). Archivists prefer something fixed that they can measure time passing by.

An isekai can be just an extreme "fish out of water" story; a city mouse in the country and the like.

Personally, I have to consider the new environment to be an extreme "physics don't operate how the main is used to".

Futurama is so vastly different (cultural shifted Santa Claus, what's considered a menial task, what's considered intelligent/sentient, and daily dangers to name a few) it could be considered fantastical. But Fry doesn't really have adjustment difficulty beyond the initial scenery change and most of the power dynamics is as he remembers it (albeit with different faces)

These are what I thought of first; initially they're meant to be, but the twist reveal should change the detail. Twist aside, they try to play it as a straight alien/foreign/alternate reality.

It's like tagging Star Wars Episode 4 a New Hope with the incest instead of romance tag because of later episodes detailing Luke and Leia.
