Imagine the dumbest way Trump could try and get out of the guilty verdict. Try really hard.

Now, imagine some "professional shitposter" posts on the NY Court System Facebook that they have a cousin who is a juror and told him Trump would be found guilty before the verdict came down.

You now have what Merchan just had to alert both parties too because of fucking course this would happen.

Have to imagine the guy, again, a self admitted "professional shitposter" was just making shit up and isn't even related to a juror but in theory if it could be proven it's legit this would provide a cause for Trump to have the verdict set aside and a new trial held.

Yeah, a sufficiently built Triko could probably pull it off - think I remember seeing some people do so. There's some mechanics in play that help allow you to solo if you know what to do/have the right command codes. (Though unfortunately IDK if you have them since most of the actually good ones were given out in events)

Yeah, this is some real bullshit.

For a brief recap of that particular detail: One of the co-defendants accused Willis and a special prosecutor she hired in putting together the case, Nathan Wade, of having a secret affair, despite having no real proof (and even when they vaguely waved at sealed divorce proceedings for Wade saying "I'm sure the proof is in there!" when a judge unsealed the records... what a shock nothing there.) They claimed that therefore her hiring him was a conflict of interest and wanted the charges dismissed and Willis removed from the case.

At a hearing about it, Willis said she did have a relationship with Wade (after he was hired as opposed to years before as was baselessly alleged) but there was no conflict of interest and no grounds for her dismissal. The result of the hearing was that the judge found no evidence of wrongdoing by Willis but that it had created "the appearance of impropriety" and so said either she or Wade had to leave the case - Wade left later that day. Trump then appealed that decision and now the Georgia Court of Appeals has, in effect, given him what he wanted in yet another delay. Admittedly, I never though this particular case had a realistic shot at making it to trial before the election given its relative complexity and number of co-defendants (though a number have since plead guilty) but now it's certainly not going to make it.

Somewhat related, but Axios is also reporting that Congressional Republicans want to pass a bill that would allow "current and former presidents" to move any state case brought against them to federal court. It's comically obvious this is all about making them federal cases so Trump could self-pardon or have another Republican pardon him for them or to otherwise make it easier for SCOTUS to jump in and save him on partisan grounds.

Even if the House holds a vote on this, which it's unclear they will - it would die in the Senate and Biden obviously would not sign it, but if they can gain a trifecta in 2024 I imagine they'll move forward again and force this through. Trump has tried, unsuccessfully, to move his state cases to federal court before - including the Georgia case - and if they can pass such a law before the GA case can proceed he will surely do so again

I'd love to watch Ted Lasso but I think it's still (maybe always will?) be exclusive to AppleTV. orz

My specific Servant target plan looks something like: Summer (Erice and Skadi) -> Van Gogh Rerun -> Kukulkan+Tlaloc (LB7). I'm a bit over 1000 after building back up after I spent pretty much my whole haul on NP5 Mel at the end of last year.

Anniversaries tend to be the big SQ reward for players - each time they generally find something to reward us on that applies retroactively. This year it's the 3 SQ for all max ascended Servants. But they also add Extra Master Missions to get it up to date (So for instance clearing each part of LB6 will get you 10 SQ, etc. and will be there permanently so you'll get the SQ when you get that far)

Specifically on the Servant Ascension thing: You get a Pure Prism for Ascensions 1, 2, and 3 and for Final Ascension it's 1 Rare Prism for every Welfare (+ Mary Anning the 2* from the recent LWM collab event) and 3 SQ for everyone else.

For you, I might be missing someone but the Welfare Servants since you've started are, I think:

Saber Lily
BB
Altera Santa (Don't think you have her, but you can grab the Christmas Event that gives her out from the Rare Prism Shop for free.In a very loose sense you can think of it as tying up a loose end from Babylonia.)

These rewards for Ascensions are permanent going forward, so don't worry about missing them. It's just, you get the rewards retroactively, so those of playing a while will get them all as a lump sum when the anniversary starts. You'll get the same for everyone you've already ascended but the rewards will stay in place going forward so you'll still get them as you keep building them up.

I'll roll a little on the Anniversary banner - for Xu Fu lol. For Summer I'm also on the Summer Skadi train but I also want to pick up Erice too so I'll be rolling on the Ibuki banner even though Ibuki is the one I want the least. I've basically given up on Proto Merlin unless I am insanely lucky and get all of the above super quick.

I don't remember them clearly killing anyone on-screen but it would be kinda crazy if they managed to get through their run with zero casualties inflicted between the mayhem in Heimdallr (just imagine if some kid was standing on one of the sewer grates when they overloaded it), sending AI tanks against the army, and shooting with an airship's gatling gun into the trade conference at near point-blank range.

I think that if we get the terrible, terrible situation of the Republican Party and a smattering of independents electing a man who is in state prison (for nonviolent crimes) to the office of the Presidency, NY should be willing to let him go free.

So, for obvious reasons this is not something that the country has ever had to deal with so it hasn't been litigated or an "official policy" set but from legal experts I've read - assuming the hypothetical that Trump receives a prison sentence but then also wins the Presidential Election that the likeliest outcome would be that his prison sentence would be suspended. He'd be released to serve his term but would go back to serve the remainder after it ends.

Of course, whether Trump would willingly allow it to end at that point given what we saw him do last time when the stakes for him personally were damn near zero to begin with...

So the flip side of all your sports teams being so awful that they have had literally no success in your entire lifetime is that no individual moment is actually that bad. It's all just an endless stream of misery that you become desensitized to.

But I guess I'll go with the 2010 AFC Championship game. (vs Steelers) because I recall that game being one where I felt like Sanchez ultimately ended up playing a "good enough" game that that year's team would usually be able to win. But the defense had an uncharacteristically bad first half and allowed 24 points and that was just too much to overcome. They played a shutout in the second half but asking Sanchez to overcome a 24-3 halftime lead was just too much. They got it to 24-19 but that was it.

As mentioned, you can run from prison - and that Debs did so - ironically, if in prison he could run for President but not vote. (There's a bunch of state laws interacting here but the tl;dr is that as long as he's not actually in an NY prison on Election Day he can still vote)

He can.

The Florida law governing whether felons can vote defers to the state that convicts them for out-of-state felony convictions. And NY law only prevents felons currently incarcerated from voting. So as long as Trump isn't in an NY prison on Election Day he can vote in Florida.

Nope. POTUS can only pardon federal crimes, not state crimes like these. Only the Governor of New York can pardon him of these.

Also the issue of a self-pardon has never been litigated but with this SCOTUS I wouldn't necessarily count on them laughing it out of the courtroom - but again that would only be for federal crimes.

Trails in the Sky I feel like, while nominally 3 games, SC/2 is more of the conclusion and 3 just opens things up for the later entries so that's not really a conclusion.

Xenoblade 3 I think has a GOAT ending but I don't know how much I extend that to the trilogy as a whole - it certainly is in many ways but that's not necessarily how/why it impacted me so hard.

Even Utawarerumono sorta feels like I'm weighing it more on Mask of Deception/Truth and leaving the first game a bit behind but eh let's go with it unless I think of something better later.

So theoretically, yes. (We can meme about 136 years but there's just no way it'd be served consecutively - it'd be concurrent)

But again, I'm expecting probation despite all the aggravating factors at play like his contempt violations and lack of remorse. Plus, again, there was that NYT piece that looked at how this charge tended to be sentenced and only 1 in 10 ended up with prison. No way Trump lands in that 10%.

Not really.

I do think Robin Williams may have been the closest I got, but I never really had a tendency to bond strongly with celebrities since I don't, y'know, actually know them. There was probably a time when I was younger when this wasn't quite true but I've become all jaded and stuff as I've gotten older so now I don't lol.
