I'm not an alcoholic but I do suffer from some serious anxiety. And I was already anxious enough as it is, but my stepdad just had to prove just how much of an ignorant asshole he is about the election AND how anxiety works and now I'm just feeling some dark feelings I thought I didn't have to deal with ever again.

In retrospect it might not have been the best idea to cancel my therapist appointment this week, lol. I did have Stardew Valley help me out a little but I'm currently waiting for both the mods I'm using on PC to update and waiting for the game to update on Switch. I guess I'll just stick to Minecraft or something.

Update on the situation: seems like someone put a tracking device in one of her gifts she got at a convention.

I remember something similar happening to one of the hololive members. Thankfully the gift was sent to cover's main office first and they checked it out before they could send it to who it was addressed to, and ever since then you can only send fan mail.

Yeah, there was an incident in Japan where a stalker was able to track down the location of a particular J-Pop idol by looking at the reflection in her eyes and determining where she was.

These people are insane.

The reflection thing is most likely a bizarre exaggeration on the stalker's part to try to make themselves some sort of badass or something (having dealt with these sorts of people that is something they do though luckily in most cases they're all bark and would rather live in their self-delusions than do anything that could risk destroying their circlejerk).

What isn't a myth sadly is how easy anybody can locate anybody with stuff like metadata in images and most people aren't even aware of it. Even if you don't have any images of yourself online, it's too easy for someone who is REALLY determined to find what information that is out there that was sold by companies. Most of the time "badasses" are just too lazy to do anything, but there's always one...

This is less of a prediction and more of an observation but one thing Kamala does have over Trump is having enthusiasm. As the days go more and more by it's extremely obvious that he just does not have the energy in him to keep going like he did in 2016. And yeah yeah I know he has his cultists and all that are louder than ever but it's less about trying to get through the loyalists who have lost the plot and more about getting people sitting on the fence or former supporters who just have had enough with his nonsense, and there's probably a lot more of them now then there were back in 2020.

I'm cautiously optimistic and hoping against hope that Harris will win. I also can't help but to worry about the country if Trump wins. Not all of us can afford to move to a new country after all. The best I can hope is that Trump is so hilariously inefficient at running anything that nothing he stated he wanted to do gets done... which isn't good either. Honestly it feels like that sort of thinking isn't good either and is just what the likes of his supporters WANT people to feel like.

This next week is gonna be a long one.

At least with Tate it's just a typical case of a con getting lucky. Sort of like Trump in a sense.

Peterson is a case of someone that originally may or may not have had a point that basically went off the deep end.

I don't watch Rogan so I can't speak about him.

As for why you see so many men like them... to be honest. I'm not entirely sure. I think part of it, at least, is due to social justice discourse way back in the early 2010s pretty much changed how people think of things for the worse. If I was a young man who grew up on the internet then and was constantly barraged with checking your privilege and how straight men is on easy mode, and young man was not actually on easy mode... it's kinda easy to see how they might find someone like Peterson and Tate sympathetic.

...I suppose you can also argue this is how Trump got into power in the first place.

The only light in the tunnel I can see is that a lot of people over time can see them for who they really are and get away from it all. We've seen it plenty of times this election campaign. They'll always have their most ardent supporters, and those people might be lost forever.

This also from someone who in the past was a bit sympathetic with Peterson way in the past, though I'm unsure if you could ever call me a huge supporter. Of course I think the guy probably needs to get some meds nowadays, if he ever was stable to begin with.

Between this and him doing his wrestling bit at one of the GOP events earlier, does anybody else think that Hulk Hogan is just Trump's attempt to appeal to the younger crowd, except due to being extremely old they think that the kids are still into Hulk-o-Mania because they still think it's the 1980s or something?

Like say what you will about Walz playing Fortnite or AOC playing Among Us and how cringe that is, at least that's more relevant to today's youth than friggin' Hulk Hogan.

...Although this is implying that the GOP care about kids to begin with. Or women. Or minorities. Or men that aren't their fellow billionaires for that matter.

I've only seen a total of one that had some signs, and it was from a Harris/Walz supporter. Absolutely zero signs for Trump thankfully. Hell I haven't even seen any cars with any obnoxious political branding. Then again I don't go out much.

Although in my rather limited experience, it seems like the Hampton Roads area in Virginia leans more blue. Also I live like right next to a library which from what I read one party is not a fan of lol.

People on the youtube subreddit are really concerned that this interview alone has doomed Harris due to it having 22 million views in one day which strikes me as a little doomer. Especially since Harris is most likely going to push her ground game the upcoming week and Trump is showing up late to his rallies and is growing obviously more tired.

I feel like these people aren't taking into account it wasn't just Americans who were watching the stream and for some unfortunate reason there are people outside this country who like him.

Also someone mentioned Harris' social media game being weak and I'm gonna be honest, I really don't think we need another politician addicted to twitter.

Putting aside the dumb woke discourse that has brainrotted everyone, I find it weird that one of the compaints is about Knuckles being censored when the revised version is actually more in character. He's never really been the joking type, especially when it comes to anything related to wellbeing to his island. Well, pre Adventure anyway.

Also they've been putting less emphasis on Amy being obsessed with Sonic for years now. I mean that was literally what her quest in Sonic Adventure 1 was all about. It's less about censorship and more about trying to flesh her out a bit more, though you can argue that they may have went too far in the other direction a little at times. At least that's my initial impression from playing the first few hours of Sonic Frontiers.

It is almost as if the people making a huge stink about this has never really consumed the products they claim to be defending... Couldn't be that though.

One thing I can agree with is it's good that the original version of Sonic Generations is still available for preservation reasons. And maybe the part about Rouge's design but like that stuff happens all the time regardless of the reasons so it's really hard to say it's some draconian woke censorship mob or just someone thinking her not having a exposed back looked better.

...I have no idea what they're upset about with the cake thing though. Eating cakes is woke now I guess...

I know that objectively speaking it's better that we don't have to worry about switching discs/disks but it was kinda hype back in the day when things ended on a cliffhanger and you got the prompt saying it's time to switch.

Anybody find it really odd that TMZ are usually the first to report whenever a celebrity dies. They were like the first group to also report that Kobe died back in 2020. Like who are they really.

Outside of terminally online circles who constantly engage in The Discourse(tm) like their life (or income) depended on it, I don't think that being a gamer is any more looked down upon than usual. In my really limited experience of dealing with outside people, unless you're acting like a complete asshole or suffer from some serious hygiene issues, no one doesn't care if you're wearing gamer-related clothing or whatever (for better or worse). Sure you have the boomer types who think video games are the devil but they think everything is the devil.

Yes I know I've seen people mention gamergate but people who think that ruined the perceptions of gamers forever is being overdramatic. You can argue the effects of that entire debacle with the caveat of despite what some think it wasn't the main cause of a certain dorito getting into office, but a symptom of an issue that was happening with The Discourse(tm) for years before that. It would be a lie to say that gaming isn't involved, but it wasn't the only thing.

Really stupid theory here: what if one of the reasons why Trump (or whoever is making his decisions for him) decided to let Elon here is some sort of attempt to attract younger people to vote for him? I'm not saying that he's that popular with younger people at all--my impression is that they're severely mocking him. But since he's into going into space, and most likely the age range of the Trump voter base were really interested in going to space when they were kids, this is just them scrambling any sort of plan to get as much votes as possible since their initial plan of constantly mocking Biden are useless now.

...Most likely not. Why would Trump care about the welfare of people outside of his cult, and even that's debatable.

To be fair at that time, the west wasnt getting too many anime games, and FMA was one of the first that wasnt a Dragon Ball or Naruto fighting game.
