The double trumpet solo into double sax solo at the end is fantastic, been going back to it every day since I first heard it. I was stoked to find a Miles Davis feature while going through Cameo's discography.

Samurai Cop was my number one? Idk what the hell I was thinking when I finalized these rankings. I just thought the guy looked hilarious.

Ryan's Babe was such a fever dream, all your plot synopses feel like they're unlocking distant memories even though I only watched it like a month ago. The cheerleaders, the couple that swaps him a stolen car, the hotel gig...it's all coming back to me now.

TAXI DRIVAHHH, you've been down too long in the midnight sea...

I love that the poster/credits for Taxi Driver made a big deal about featuring Peter Boyle as "Wizard", like he's gonna be some important character dropping knowledge. And all he gets is one scene where he goes "ayy what do I know I'm just a cabbie". Like, the ironic nickname by itself is whatever but the highlight in the credits is pretty funny to me.

Been dusting off some old DVDs for the back half, turns out I have quite a few of these. But man, after getting used to boutique blu-rays it is surprisingly rough going back. Crud resolution, some aren't even in widescreen, and oh my lord the ads. Ads falling out of the case, ads before the menu screen, ads in the menu options. All for the upcoming releases that already came and went. It feels like such a goofy novelty now, I had to laugh when I popped in my copy of No Country For Old Men and it started with a sneak preview of National Treasure: Book of Secrets
