For sure. Actually, plenty of others have done a good job but there's only one Kevin Conroy.

Rino Romano (2004's The Batman ) is actually my second favorite. He had a totally different style, but then again it was a totally different Batman. As opposed to Timm and Conroy's take on a hardened Batman barely holding on to his humanity, this was a Batman who was very much human, facing a cycle of failure and redemption and growing through the experiences of the show. And likewise, he has a more human voice. It actually took me a couple of seasons to really get the show, especially since all the villains look freaking terrible.

Batman in that one was Bruce Greenwood. Oddly, I was going to comment this Batman sounded like that one, but evidently it's not the same VA.

Probably two things:

1. People just aren't used to paying labor in addition to gas and wear/tear. Of course they're going to think it's expensive.

2. That thing where if you try to schedule a ride ahead of time it costs like ten dollars a mile for some reason.

Doesn't sound like him at all. Unless he's playing a different character.

My main complaint about the game was that the policing system, which had cops come after you for speeding and traffic infractions, was completely at odds with the arbitrary timer that seemed to be in every single mission.

Like, let's say the mission is to get across town to meet someone at a bar. The game may give you 1:30-2:00 to get there, but if any cop sees you speeding then suddenly you're in an intense police chase that you're not going to get out of within the time limit. Game would have been a lot better if it only gave you time limits when it makes sense to.

My headcanon is that the time limits are generally because Tanner is just a horrible procrastinator.

Realistically, though, it just wouldn't be much of a challenge if you could take your time.

Tutorial / First few stages were the hardest part in that game. Once you got past that you were good. Although I do remember the last stage also being insanely hard.

The last level was stupid hard. The secret service cars were so fast and so heavy that they would knock cars into like the third floor of nearby buildings. I got hit by a car from the front and back at the same time once and flew so high in the air that I went over the walls of a building and got stuck inside where the floor was a glitchy void and had to restart the PS1 to get out.

According to stuff, they're working on a "new project related to Driver" which since they don't call it a game probably means something stupid like a comic series (after all, they were planning a live action series for some stupid reason).

But I'd rather it go back to being about driving instead of the GTA clone direction 3 and PL went and the... superpowers thing they did with SF.

Though a GTA clone entry would still be ok. As long as they don't do the superpowers thing I'm gonna be interested.

He's one of the more grounded cartoon characters tbh. It's more like the world around him is cartoony and he's an everyman who alternately works the system and gets worked by the system.

I know everyone usually chooses IV but III was my jam. I played that soooooooooo much in high school and loved the three generations aspect of it. Keeping your two cyborgs Wren and Mieu through all the generations. Damn I loved that game.

3 was my favorite too. It had some serious problems, but it avoided the main pitfalls of 2, had cool writing and had a number of its own unique ideas that ruled.

It's definitely got the coolest and most iconic setting and feel, but it dropped the ball hard in terms of pacing, and the mazey samey dungeons get old really quickly.

It's one of those games where you love it for the first hour or so and then you start forcing yourself to play it, and then you give up, and three years later you're like "oh man that game was so cool" and try it again with exactly the same result.

I did finish it once, by forcing myself to, but I generally give up before even getting to the dams.

I watched it last year with a friend as a double feature with The Batman.

He was adamant that if we only had time for one, it was going to be The Batman. Both were a rewatch for him, and I guess the .just watch of the two was TB. But then, when we watched both anyway, Joker was a 10/10 movie and The Batman was pretty much crap, lol.

I've been debating getting a second little workbench type desk in my work from home office.

I am starting to really feel the lack of any productive hobby when I just do gaming eating at my soul a little, and I think maybe getting into some light casual repairs would be fun. I know I enjoy retro game system repair videos and I think I would enjoy some level of tinkering like that.

One of my tables is for gaming and PC. The other is for tinkering, repairs, writing, WFH and my general "to do" pile.

But like all stories, they forget about technology when it would undermine the plot. When they call security, they always walk or run there instead of transporting, giving the bad guy the time to talk or attack or escape before security arrives.

I like how this works in video games. Suddenly doors and elevators just doesn't work for no reason, or people nag you if you try to leave and solve the problem, or the menu item for fast travel is just grayed out for no reason.

My favorite was the PSG1 in MGS1. They went waaaaaaay out of their way to stop you from grabbing it early, for obvious plot reasons. But I'm talking, doors that don't open even when you have the card, Meryl nagging you for trying to go backward, people calling you on the radio to nag you for going backward.

But the craziest thing is they identified an exploit that lets you get through a door without having the card key equipped, which would let you get the PSG1 early, and rather than fix it outright, they just made it so that it only works if you have the key in your inventory, lol. Believe me, I tried everything, and they thought of everything.

I don't recall having lego sets when I was a kid. I just had a huge plastic bin full of assorted legos. The last lego set I got (as a gift) was a Minecraft one, and most of the pieces aren't even standard legos as far as I'm concerned.

It's the parent-child-toy dynamic.

Kids don't clean up after themselves. Toys are similar. Parents know; they just don't care.

It was easy for me to blame my mom for throwing all the legos in one bin so I could never sort out all the pieces that go together as a kid.

On the other hand, it was... relatively reasonable to keep all my kids' toys organized when they were not yet crawling and only had a handful of things. Now that it's the 1461st consecutive day of cleaning up their toys, and they have thousands of them (counting each individual Lego, playing card, etc), on a good day I might care enough to separate them out, but on an average day I just put shit in buckets. It's good enough as far as I'm concerned if the vague category of "cars n shit" ends up in one basket while "magnetic bullshit" ends up in another.

For now, they only have one set of Legos though so I feel like I can get away with it.

My only exposure to the character is from BTAS, so this might just apply to that version, but he struck me more as a chaotic neutral. Joker thinks he's chaotic neutral, until Creeper hits the scene.
