Yeah despite how popular he is, Char is an actually fucking terrible person and while Origin flanderizes him into some hyper badass child prodigy, in the classic series he's really a spiteful, vindictive sore loser that's perfectly okay with everything Zeon does as long as he can get revenge in the long run.

Also like a lot of later Zeon aces he gained all of his notoriety at Loum destroying outdated battleships and Balls before the Federation ever had mobile suits so his reputation never really holds up to his actual performance unless he holds an overwhelming technological advantage.

Jaheira's romance isn't actively bugged but it's easy for events in the game to trigger it because if she dies or is petrified at any point that counts as her being removed from the party which automatically fails her romance and this can also cause issues for events in her romance itself that have her temporarily leave the party.

I wonder how well the series could have done if not for the huge blunder of making 3 a PS2 exclusive. Like yeah, they had other blunders as well and I doubt the series would have ever reached the popularity of Tekken, but maybe the series wouldnt be dead like it is now had they not started such a sharp downhill turn with that decision.

SCIV was extremely successful so I'm pretty sure the series being dead has less to do with bizarre conspiracies revolving around console fanboyism and more the fact that V was an absolutely terrible game and how with Okubo's departure after VI that there's just nobody left at Bandai Namco to champion the series, Harada made a pretty long post last year about how there's virtually nobody in a position of authority related to Soulcalibur any more whereas his influence alone can guarantee Tekken's future.
