It just had a gimmick title and they decided to roll with it for the sequels. There's no conceptual difference at all. In fact, Solid is a borderline 2 remake, just with some Policenauts thrown in.Solid is mainline, but that doesn't make the 2D games Solid titles. Because they literally aren't titled Solid. This isn't hard to grasp. When someone calls Metal Gear Solid 2 the second Metal Gear Solid, do you go "actually it's the fourth"? --- Mega Man X DiVE Offline is good!
