Scythed chariots were a thing used by the Persians and were used like that. According to Xenophon, who saw them at Kounaxa:

In front of them were the so-called scythe-bearing chariots, at some distance from one another; and the scythes they carried reached out sideways from the axles and were also set under the chariot bodies, pointing towards the ground, so as to cut to pieces whatever they met; the intention, then, was that they should drive into the ranks of the Greeks and cut the troops to pieces. Xen. Anab. 1.8.10

Xenophon describes that when the Greeks were charged by the chariots, they simply made gaps for them to pass through. According to Xenophon only one man was injured from the charge of these 20 chariots. The Macedonians also faced them and boxed them in as the movie shows.

Their origin is a bit hazy. The traditional hellenocentric viewpoint is that scythed chariots emerged as a means to deal with Greek hoplites but some scholars have argued that their origin is older than that and dates back to the Neo Assyrian period. See:

It's a pretty neat scene. You can point out in the Macedonian army various types of warriors. Macedonan hypaspists, Thracian peltasts wearing their iconic cloaks and foxskin caps, Skythian warriors, Macedonian Pikemen and the companion cavalry. It even has infantry running alongside cavalry which is attested by Xenophon. They had the expertise of the Oxford historian Robin Lane Fox so the tactics and costuming seems sound except for when it devolves into Hollywood nonsense with the heroes brawling it out in a chaotic melee.

Sadly the same can't be said for the Persians who are depicted in a very orientalist way, lightly armed, mob-like and suicidal. Darius is even shown wearing eyeliner which Persian kings never wore in an attempt to Orientalize his image.

I'm not big into dscord but I'll keep the link in mind just in case.

He is. I used him most of my normal playthrough, my endgame party ended up being Lugo, Dijkistra and Gigina on the front and Nowa, Lam and Foxiel as the back row. He's a pretty consistent heavy hitter. Once you get access to the boss rush mode your levels skyrocket, I ended up reaching level 65 the first time I used it a little into the last part of the story and I could safely flee most encounters because I was too high leveled. Plus with the leveling system you can pretty much expiriment with any party composition because a few random encounters can bring any low level party member up to par with the rest of the party.

MZ is good but the plugin market is cornered by VisuStella and their plugins are obfuscated so combability with other plugins is difficult. I have all their plugins and find them really useful but they cost money. There's also some good free plugins and I've commissioned a few.

Not really except for Sea of Stars mostly because I found a little boring.

I need a chill game

I think it's chill. It starts off a little slow but once you get to manage the castle and go around recruiting other party members it picks up. I have about 65 hours clocked in and doing a new game+ run with reset stats on hard with all the recruited characters from my first run.

I used to be bigly into collecting, and wearing, vintage clothing. Mostly things like suits and felt hats.

But I'll add for the main game in normal you can use whoever you want for the most part. I kept Gigina around even if he's a really terrible character stat wise.
