Have you bought any cheapish window units? They work pretty well for at least the room they face into. I work at a grocery store and even they sell decent ones for $140. If I had no AC whatsoever, Id cut whatever spending I had to to put in as many of those as possible.

Ours went out last year during a 95-100 degree week. Wife was 6 months pregnant at the time so was extra miserable.

Nope, it used old refrigerant so they werent able to fix it or replace it for free, so $15,000 later we had a whole new HVAC system (furnace was fine but it was the same age as the bad AC so figured we may as well knock that out too).

Got a fancy high efficiency system and now I can have it be like 70 degrees all day in summer and our electric bill is about $50-75 less per month than the old system being at 74 degrees.

I cant imagine going a month, at that point Id probably have signed off on an even more expensive new one

omg i remember when my dorm a/c broke and no one bothered to tell dorm management about it (including me) until maybe like almost a year later lol. it was ok during the fall/winter but once summer hit it was so damn hot. i was sweating all the time in my room while i played games on my pc.

this was in south carolina so it was very humid

Brotherhood is a more faithful adaptation, but it speedruns a lot of the early chapters because it kind of assumes people watched the original one first. Events that happen in ten episodes of Brotherhood happen nearly thirty episodes into the original and early plot points have a lot more weight to them because you've spent more time with the characters involved.

Both shows are absolutely worth watching, so if you have the time, do both of them. If you must pick just one, watch Brotherhood.
