So, another serious poll time!! If we are forced to jump ship from B8 mid-contest, what would be your ideal situation for continuing the contest? (Discussion should go in the results topic)

VGMC to me is foremost a forum experience, and I feel that something like Discord (or even Reddit) just doesn't have the proper flow to manage this contest in the same way. I remember the newish Discord Posts functionality we've used for BOST, and the interface is a clunky middle-ground that neither succeeds at being a traditional forum, nor a regular Discord server. In that regard, I feel these are our two best options:

*Make a new dedicated forum for VGMC
*Move it to a different gaming forum, but definitely keep it forum-based

Between these two, the second option has a few problems I've immediately noticed, most notably:

1. The traditional forum format is almost dead on today's internet, and there are very few gaming-focused forums that still have a considerable level of activity
2. Expanding upon Point 1, I just don't see us adding a significant userbase growth down this avenue
3. The different gaming forum would have to have a similar-enough culture/compatibility to our own
4. We would essentially be "invading" another website

Of course having our own dedicated forum would require time, effort, and hosting costs (unless we go with a free message board system, and just not have the overhead of a main website), but doing so would at least keep this as a "B8" tradition.

*Try and find somewhere on GameFAQs we could hide out in somehow

This is also an interesting solution, and the obvious choice would be the Video Game Music board that we already have.

Obviously, the big problem here is that the hypothetical big event that would take B8 down is probably the same thing that's going to be taking this whole website down. We're still relying on the whims of the same administrators. (Unless of course, only B8 gets shut down because "no more GameFAQs contests ever")
