| Dedf1sh 05/28/24 8:14:23 PM #328 | There are also some ads that play an "animation" where they appear to rise from the bottom of the page, but they're actually loaded the whole time and they're just using transparency to make it look like nothing's there, so they trick you into clicking the space that you think is empty but you're actually clicking the ad.

| Dedf1sh 05/24/24 8:09:30 PM #41 | SML1 is in a similar boat to Metroid 2 where it didn't try to "recreate" the existing NES game (literally or figuratively) but tried to be a legit new entry in the series. I'd say that Metroid did it better. SML was a valiant attempt but overall I don't think that it turned out that great. Certainly not as good as SMB1 nor as its eventual sequel. Still understandable why people who played it early would grow up with a positive opinion of it.

And also levels having alternate day/night versions which change enemy behaviors or certain environmental aspects.

Skimming the votes, most of these songs are not good, but fine, and not exactly known for being "bad songs". Feels like another one where I'm just out of the loop on what is appropriate to considerA lot of people are using this as a proxy for "popular songs that they think are overrated" (or at least "don't live up to their reputation"). Many of the suggestions are, in fact, considered to be "good songs" by the general public and calling them bad is a minority opinion. The true best noms are the ones which were negatively received even when they were new, and never got any of that retroactive "actually maybe it was okay and we overreacted" that some bad stuff gets. --- HDT |
