I am curious to see what everyone's ~^*aesthetic*^~ is.

I feel like my look varies pretty significantly from day to day, but there's also a lot of core elements that ties it all together.

Today; it was ripped up black skinny jeans with green hi-top Chucks, a very fadded t-shirt turned muscle tank that i cut off the sleeves and cropped that's the Black Flag logo but instead it's Black Lodge and the four lines are all jagged, and a demin vest with various pins and patches. Hair up in a messy pony because it was fucking hot out.

I've also got a pair of black Wild Fang coveralls that see pretty regular use (with black Docs usually), as well as like a lot of overalls. Any t-shirt I wear anymore is usually cropped because long t-shirts feel weird now.

Nonsense lyrics make a song unlistenable.

I don't necessarily have to know what they're talking about, but they need to have coherent thoughts.

For example, The Moody Blues's Knights in White Satin. I have no idea what they're talking about, but wearing white clothing is a thing a knight can do, for example, and the chorus of "and I'll love you" is pretty straightforward.

Contrast with They Might Be Giants. I don't know what it means to build a birdhouse in my soul. Or what it means for a well to be electrical.

Waffles are pretty solid; easy to make, absorb anything good you put on them and theyre good in literally any format.

honestly one of the main reasons I want a house instead of just an apartment is so I can have a bunch of space to just collect instruments and make bad noise without the cops being called.

I mean, on the one hand, I'm a trans-femme lesbian in a long-term committed relationship that involved a cross-country move within three months of meeting someone in person after talking to them online. That's pretty gay.

To be honest, I don't really know what kind of music I'd make now. I'm coming out of a seven year depression and I haven't really created anything in years and my environment, mental state and what I'm listening to have all pretty much dramatically changed so who knows what I would create now.

Im not saying its universally a good thing. But its also a pretty common discussion in the art world. We talk about Rokeby Venus primarily due to it being attacked during the womens suffrage movement.

and we are talking about art being displayed or not because we (or at least I) am talking about permanence as it regards art. Art doesnt fail because its in a museum, but if a paintings power and impact goes away simply because its not on display, kinda feels like it misses the whole point doesnt it?

I think most people in this topic think of art in the aesthetic sense rather than in the critical sense. And thats cool if you think thats what art is, but what Im saying is Im not exactly devastated if a piece gets vandalized because its impact on society and its influence in the art world remains untarnished.

(and, you know, it always gets restored)
