Aside from the perspective of the camera and modern controls I fail to see how the combat is any different from the original game. You can see that the metal pipe or wood board is his primary weapon as his guns have like 2 shots in them. This is standard survival horror formula, not unique or exclusive to the original SH2.

Other than that I completely disagree. SH2 looked great and still looks great. The HD version just looked worse and this looks worse.

I can't defend the puzzles of the OG but everything else is well designed. Combat is awkward, clunky, not fun and most of all avoidable. It's not supposed to feel fun to beat up monsters.

The monsters themselves are (mostly ) suspiciously feminine, don't seem all that bothered about you. It's all about feeling idolated, trapped and alone without feeling like youre being heoric for doing do.

Between the goat sound design, excellent camera angles good level design and great music, it all comes together to make the best horror game ever.

It's full of fantastic visuals and takes full of advantage of the medium of gaming to make the player/environment take story actions while using cutscenes largely to raise more questions than they answer

SH2 used the limitations of the PS2 to its advantage to create atmosphere . Ruining all of that to make it look/sound like every other modern horror game guts the whole experience.
