Constantly hearing about Donald fucking Trump and his cult of d**k-riding sycophants, and the utterly reprehensible things they say and do, is both depressing and infuriating. For my own mental health I had to take a break from that bottomless pit.

I have not run into a single game in my steam library that does not work perfectly after enabling Proton. I have like 300+ games. The only exceptions are games that explicitly enforce anti-cheat systems that everyone hates, but are still necessary for the newest AAA online games. I don't really play those, but if you do you should just look it up before trying it.

So do all modern AAA DX12 games besides those run without issues using proton/wine? Has wine advanced that far? I would love to go back to using linux if it had full on gaming support, but I don't believe it does. I'm currently playing Elden Ring and I doubt I could play that on linux with the same performance as on Windows. Gaming support is the only thing keeping me from using linux.

When I was using linux there was always problems with AMD drivers. One driver doesn't work for games, another is always outdated but is the best, and another is too new yet to support my card. I have a new computer with an nvidia card so I wouldn't have a problem there.

No but I came very close to juvenile detention. They even brought me back where all the inmates were to intimidate me. But I wasn't even 13 at the time so they decided against it. So I got community service at the local humane society, which was awesome, and probation for a year or so.

I have never been in legal trouble as an adult.

Idk what you're addicted to, TC. Obviously some addictions are worse than others, and some are easier to break. When I was addicted to a harder drug I had to both accept that I was addicted and strongly want my old self back before I could summon the will to just stop. And I haven't looked back or even remotely desired that drug again. I quit cold turkey and it was a waking nightmare I won't go through again.

Outlander. A fantasy romance drama involving time travel. If you can get past the fact that the first few seasons have a lot of sex scenes there's a really intriguing story. It's a Starz show but it's also on Netflix, however the last season isn't on there yet.

The Last Kingdom. Nothing you said indicates you would be into this kind of show, but it's one of my favorites on Netflix so I'm recommending it. Kind of like Vikings but better production value and more likeable characters.

Carnivale and Rome are good HBO shows that haven't been mentioned yet.

This is one way Linux is far superior to Windows. If only you could run all modern games on Linux without hassle I'd be using that still.

Microsoft needs to fuck off with their forced feature updates nobody asked for and nobody wants. Learn how to make these updates optional. They don't even offer an easy GUI method of disabling this shit. I have auto updates off since I installed W11 and it seems I'll be keeping it that way.

I don't know if they will ban accounts, but they will lock your account until you disable the ad blocker. People hit with this bullshit get a popup saying they have 3 more videos before their account is locked.

There was a tweet a while back from a youtube dev and you could see they had ublock installed and active. Nobody likes ads and nobody wants ads but we live in a society where we have to be swimming in ads 24/7/365.

I managed to get shadowbanned twice on a youtube channel that does a lot of religious and political debates. I was able to email the channel owner both times and apologize in order to get unbanned. The second time he said once more and I'll be permabanned, so I stopped commenting and eventually stopped watching the channel altogether. Dude called me an edgelord and I took that to heart. I was an edgelord.

The channel is Modern-Day Debate. Garbage channel that does debates for pure spectacle, and platforms the most absurdly stupid ideas & conspiracies.

Anyway, youtube makes it so easy to get around bans. Simply add a new channel to your account. Takes only a couple seconds, and AFAIK you can have 100+ channels.

You asked, "where does our consciousness go? to another dimension?" I answered our consciousness dies with the brain. It doesn't going anywhere. I haven't found any compelling reason to believe the consciousness or "soul" can exist independently from the brain.

I think our existence is an accident of nature and our consciousness is an emergent property of the brain. When the brain dies so does our consciousness. There is no afterlife unfortunately, or fortunately.

Some of the changes I read was how they altered some spells, and the content of certain areas.

I looked it up and yeah, it seems they do make a lot of arbitrary changes. Like changing an NPCs hair color because they think it fits the quest line better, and changing an ebony mine into an iron mine because reasons. Since they're not bug fixes they should absolutely be listed on the mod page yet they're not. I might go ahead and avoid these patches in the future...

Like what kind of changes? I never heard about this. I always saw that the unofficial patches are top-endorsed on nexus (the Skyrim one is #2 on there) so I assumed they're essential. I have come across mods that require them as well. I really don't care what the guy's personality is like as I went this long without knowing the first thing about him.
