I agree that there are certain movies and video games that benefit way more from a remake than others.

Also some media, even if it wasnt begging for a remake, at least makes the transition more gracefully either naturally or through sheer talent.

Imagine how amazing our lives would be if like every 5 years or so we could just take 2 months off to really focus on ourselves and make our lives better. 10-15 days of vacation a year is such a joke.

Sabaticals? Yeah those would be amazing but they are extremely rare. Applied to a software firm once that had them.

My son (5) spent 19 days in the hospital and got two surgeries for chest tubes for his pneumonia this past spring. The ID doctor said it seems to come and go and this season it was particularly prevalent.

Reminds me of that story/topic where the two people were fighting over the rent-a-bike. People took sides, circumstances and evidence kept swinging the pendulum. Good popcorn times.

Nothing I noticed.

I read it often proceeds a migraine.

Just had what must have been one the other day. It was like a large crescent shaped kaleidoscopic thing floating in my view just off center. It was thin enough that my brain was filling in the gap but I knew it was completely blocking my vision in that area there because it was just enough to the right where it made it difficult to read text due to the next word being blocked out. After about 20 minutes it moved more to the edge of peripheral and then was gone a little while after that.

This got me thinking. Would Nintendo ever remake a Smash Bros game? Like Smash 64 or Melee with fresh graphics and sound, solid 60 FPS, new features, online matching, etc. maybe the option to still toggle on retro graphics. The licensing issues would be non existent to minimal for the first two games.

Probably too redundant of a remake choice. Especially since Sakurai tries to carry so much over each game. But I think Id buy a Melee remaster, especially with a smidge of new features. And especially if they added a secret character or two.

I watched a video exploring why we call things certain ways. Like hiphop, not hophip, or pingpong, not pongping, or ticktock, not tocktick.

essentially it boiled down to the fact that certain syllables are less work, phonetically, to say than others and the brain tends to favor the easier ones first. Maybe the same thing is at work here?
