You can tell just from this current list than all my noms are very Nintendo/SEGA driven. I considered NiGHTS vs Reala and The Knight vs Tim(hehe). Maybe the former can be done via a certain fan site.

Gen 1 would be the strongest, but you would be silly to think Reshiram vs Zekrom doesn't have some kind of strength. Doesn't work to throw it in along with the main Gen 1 ones.

After, HG/SS is what led the 'Zard to victory last battle.

Parasect vs Mewtwo.

Gen 1 Mewtwo can actually lose to him if Mewtwo doesn't carry Fire Blast.

Going to pass Mewtwo vs Mew, if only because there is no proof that they are actually against each other ingame story-wise(sure, they are related, but their "rivalry" only existed in the first movie, which resolved it completely).

Even though you can nominate 15 of them, I can't help but feel as if this contest is going to have a big shortage on significant game rivalries. If the bracket is large, it's just going to be "nominate some character, slap the villain of their game on with them).

If Bacon allows it, it could work. Technically, all Pokemon are rivals with one another since well, they battle each other.

I have nothing against older games at all(been with Pokemon since Red in 1999), I'm just being honest about certain rivalries from an ingame perspective.

Like Mewtwo Vs Mew, who don't really have any conflict between each other(only in link battles). As cool of a battle it is, it is strictly anime driven.

Charizard vs Blastoise probably works, because it is one of three possible rivalries(and I guess you could use Stadium's box art as an excuse).

I like Reshiram vs Zekrom the best because it's the only rivalry that actually happens ingame that has any gameplay (Groudon vs Kyogre in Emerald was just overworld sprites smashing at each other and boring cutscenes). You know what I mean if you played that part in BW correctly.

It would be interesting to see how BW's new Pokemon fair in the contests. It's also probably the strongest rivalry besides Red vs Blue that is actually canon ingame(Venu/Zard/Blast depends on your playthrough, Lug/Ho and Dia/Pal don't fight directly ingame, and Kyo/Groud is 3rd Gen).

Mewtwo/Mews back story in the games is that scientists found a pregnant Mew in South America, take it to Cinnabar Island Mansion, mess with it's genes, and Mewtwo is born. Mewtow destroys the place, and then just sits in the Unknown Dungeon/Cerulean Cave.

As cool as it sounds, Mewtwo vs Mew is really anime only. Hell, even Lugia vs Ho-Oh is questionable, as they never have any conflict at all ingame(besides advertizements). Kyogre vs Groudon works, but Gen 3 was the low point in the series. Dialga and Palkia don't fight at all in Platinum(they actually work together even).

Reshiram vs Zekrom deserves nominations though; it would be interesting to see how powerful BW's new Pokemon are in the contests.

Well he said he didn't like Gamestop's contest. Gamestop's contests however are unpopular.

I really do think the next battle needs to have some non-game characters. Provided said characters actually have appeared in games.

I really hope the next battle has non-game characters in(not too much, but it would make the contest far more interesting). A rule stating that real-life characters can't get in would help too.

The old graphics, ect are all present, but would any of the following changes be a good idea?

- Infinite TM usage
- Special stat split
- Physical and Special attacks determined as they are in Diamond/Pearl and on(rather than type)
- Magnemite and Magneton having their Steel type.
- Moves use their current stats?(ex: Hi Jump Kick with 130 POW, Bite as Dark-type)
- Using the current IV/EV system(note: IVs and EVs have been in Pokemon since R/B, just a little different than what they are now). This would probably be necessary for B/W trading.
- Running Shoes(to be honest, walking is irritating).
- Should certain attacks be present for better coverge(Outrage, X-Scissor, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, nothing more). Perhaps moves that actual debuted first in the original TCG(Ghasty's Destiny Bond, Blastoise's Rain Dance, Sunny Day to balance the former).

I don't think Held Items, Abilities, and Natures should be in(the former would probably have to, seeing that Nintendo would likely make it B/W compatible).

Even so, a RBY port to the 3DS Virtual Console would be wonderful, with Wifi added in and stuff. It would also be a good way to release those DW abilities.

The only fangame SEGA has killed is that SoR remake. They leave Sonic related stuff alone. I bet the SoR remake was C&Ded because it was "too much like" the main source.

I still haven't played Metroid II. Only other game I haven't played is Other Mishap.

It would be cool if Nintendo released a port of RBY that was the same, except that Special was split, and Physical/Special wasn't type based.

SA2 isn't really that great of a Sonic game, people just probably like it a lot because of the Chao Garden(which is pretty awesome).

I had a Garnet(Metallic red) all S-Chao who's stats were all at 3200 at one point. I had planned to make a 3266 chao, but then I just gave up.

The Gems version sucks. Tidal Tempest's water color is missing, and the SFX is low quality(along with the PC version's).

The "Taxman" version of Sonic CD will be the best of them all, mark my words.

And why do people think there is no US soundtrack? It's possible that the Japanese one may be the default one, but nothing has ruled out the US version yet.

We don't know if the US soundtrack is in or not. Sonic Boom was played at the Sonic Boom event, so it's not like SEGA lost the rights to the US soundtrack or anything.

It's not a straight port at all. It is based on the "Retro Engine"(which I guess was done by those at Sonic Retro or something). It's possible the game was rebuilt up from scratch, with things placed just like the original(not sure on this though).

Anyway, features:
- Sonic 2/3/&K-style Spindash
- Japanese Soundtrack(trailer indicates
- True Widescreen
- On multiple platforms
- And probably more.

Also SEGA claims it's a prequel to Sonic 4 Ep1.

BTW, Sonic 2-style spindash is in. It's also based on that old iphone port tech demo shown by Taxman(I think he also made the MJ's Sonic 3 video).

Yep, this is indeed Sonic CD just as you imagined it.

Did we all just stop playing(or now play less at least)? Although to be fair, all the news on PSO2 has kind of deinterested me from PSO.

I'll start playing again tonight, just have been slightly deinterested in PSO(PSO2 new probably did it to me lol).
