- QTE’s can be turned off in the options menu, but are frequent throughout the game, from a slow- motion knee slide to slicing through enemies to using the Kunai climb.

- Playing as Ryu makes you feel like a super hero as he is nearly unstoppable, meaning you won’t die as nearly as much as in previous games.

- Five difficulty levels: Hero, Normal, Hard, Master Ninja and Ultimate Ninja.

- Gone is every primary weapon save for Ryu’s single sword (You still have shurikens).

- No yellow essence currency from killing enemies or opening chests.

- You are stuck with a non-upgradable sword and Ryu’s health regenerates after each battle, so health restoring items have been excised.

- Ninpo has become a use it or lose it perk that powers up during each encounter.

- Limb removal is gone.

- Campaign is split into eight days and the story runs circles around the other games.

- Bosses are nowhere near as memorable or numerous as you’d expect from a Ninja Gaiden game.

- Only one cameo from a Dead or Alive character, Ayane.

- You can lower the difficulty at any point in the game.

- Ninja Cinema returns.

Compared to its predecessors, Ninja Gaiden 3 is a noticeable step back due largely to all the gameplay decisions that are taken out of your hands. Stacked up against its contemporaries, however, it still stands among the finest fast action experiences on Xbox (Bayonetta excepted). The time spent with Ryu both behind and without his mask is riveting.”

Sega has been dipping into the Dreamcast archives for the past few years, most recently with the upcoming HD remake of Jet Set Radio. Longtime Sega fans may want to sit down for this next part. There's some chatter online that not only is Sega considering the release of HD remakes of Shenmues I and II, but that the updated games have been finished for more than a year.

Gamerzines is citing an anonymous source, who tells the site that development on the projects have been complete for "well over a year." The source says that Sega has been taking its time on releasing the games until it has a better sense of what exactly it wants to do with the franchise.

That would be pretty amazing stuff, if true. Of course Shenmue fans should already be inoculated against disappointment by now, so it shouldn't sting too badly even if it's complete bunk.

90 minutes into XIII-2 I can already tell this is going to be way more fun that XIII was.

Just having branching paths on the map to explore already makes a world of difference. There's also something about the battle system, I don't know. I mean it's the same as XIII, but at the same time it feels like "yeah...this if Final Fantasy".

I'm also a huge fan of all the NPC's in town being voice acted. I mean yeah XIII I think had that too, but since there were no towns you never really noticed it!

Really wish we had the option to change our PSN names like Japan does. CaptainRockman was a spur of the moment pick based on an inside joke here on board 8, then I found out later the names I could have used weren't taken yet and I'd love to be able to change it to one ot hem.
