Looking at the Guru contest entries, a lot of people have really bad tiebreakers. I had 80000 which I thought was pretty bad but it seems I might be in the top 20% regarding tiebreakers. You could also bank on people committing battle bracket suicide on an upset pick because they don't realize that their bad looking tiebreaker is better than it looks.

Your tiebreaker is pretty bad, though. If you want to pick an upset pick Frog/Magus over Alucard/Dracula or Cloud/Sephiroth over Link/Ganondorf are probably the best bets right now. There's also some support for Sora/Riku over Squall/Seifer.

If SBAllen allowed Dark Samus for Samus, I would imagine he would allow Dark Link for Link. He should really just allow Dark Link as a separate character, though.

I'm not sure off memory. I'll look it up for you when I get back home.

I don't think the Trainers have changed in strength much, if at all. They looked 'bad' in Round 1 because they aren't the type of entity to score super big 80%+ blowouts, especially against entities totally different from them (Nintendo cutesy JRPG vs. Western mature RTS).

Think of them like Cloud, except they have an excellent early vote instead of a bad one. Pokemon always hulks up when it meets tough competition.

What makes you think they aren't the type to score huge blowouts? I don't think we've seen enough of them to say that for sure.

We discuss whether a match picture is good or bad all the time regardless of the effect on the results of the contest. Even if it doesn't have an effect on the results of the match, I don't agree with the practice of using lookalikes in place of the original character.

In the Safe End, Clover goes to Door 1 with Seven and Lotus so she definitely had an opportunity to meet Captain. I never quite got how this led to Clover getting the O bracelet. I don't think Clover had a reason to kill Captain. Even if you think Clover snapped, it doesn't make sense that she doesn't go try to kill Seven in the room beside her since Seven and Santa at the top of her list for people to kill.

It was AT&T that started it. I'm not sure which gaming related company was the first to jump in on the action. Sony was before EA. I'm not sure if there was someone before Sony. I'm sure Nintendo will probably jump in eventually as well.

You know this isn't a bad thing right? If a bunch of people get together and sue Microsoft for something no matter what the payout is each person involved will only see a minuscule amount. Like, cents, an amount most people wouldn't even bother claiming. Meanwhile, Microsoft's lawyers make millions. Waving your right to class action lawsuit just means any legal matter will be arbitrated out of court. Microsoft doesn't have to pay their lawyers and the general result for the consumer is the same.

If it doesn't cost Microsoft as much when they get caught doing something questionable that screws over the consumers, they are going to be more willing to do it.

I actually read this in the new ToS. First one I've actually looked through in years! Big deal, I can't think of any situation where I'd sue them anyway. I don't have the energy and willpower to go through with a lawsuit!

Lawsuits generally aren't something you plan to do. They are usually done in response to something unexpected. I don't think many people joined the PSN with expectations of joining a class action lawsuit when Sony leaked out personal information on millions of users. Also the threat of a potential class action lawsuit hopefully prevents some decisions that would have lead to one.

I've never personally participated in a class action lawsuit, but I don't think there's too much work involved if you are just joining one someone else started.

Every so often I fire off a Dispel arrow so that it flies near me, dispelling his transformation effect.

Arrows don't just hover stationary in mid air. You fire an arrow and it flys off. It doesn't stick around defending you.

Setting up a Gate of Babylon style Curse Bow barrage will take time to summon the bows. This gives Maniac64 time to transform air and set the atmosphere on fire which would destroy your bows at the same time.

...That is an entirely different power. I was talking about universe creation before. Now we're talking about being able to chuck people around the timestream.

He mentioned that before:

I don't think you got what I mean. I'm not saying the situation you described doesn't happen and I'm not saying it isn't a big problem. I'm not even saying that members of the church don't sometimes get involved with it. My point is there is no evidence that the situation in the news article is one of the situations you described. As messed up as these people may be, it doesn't mean they went as far as intentionally selling children into the sex trade. Also I never said a thing about you derailing the topic.

If you haven't read the Disassociation of Haruhi Suzumiya or Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya light novels and plan to, don't read this. Haruhi's subconscious is capable of and has spawned off an entire alternate timeline if necessary to deal with threats and other groups who are trying to take her powers. It's still not clear exactly what Yuki did to take Haruhi's powers, but it isn't as easy as you make it sound.

I'm a bit fuzzy on the details, but when Yuki froze Kyon and Mikuru, it wasn't the type of freezing they were actively aware of - they were literally frozen in such a way that their minds were not active in the slightest

when Anti-Spiral put the crew into their little pocket dimensions (or whatever they were), their minds were still active, which was what enabled them to escape - Yuki's freezing wouldn't provide them such a luxury

I'm not sure what restrictions there are on her ability to do that, but I'm sure TRE will be able to elucidate this issue

The only restriction I know of is Yuki needed to get permission from the higher ups in her group to use the ability. Other than that, it seemed like something Yuki could do on her own power. I have no idea if the permission thing would be an issue here.

1. She can't steal their spiral power as I doubt she can even affect them while they are in their super spiral universe (think Haruhi closed zone only they will actively fight her off unlike Haruhi who is a sitting duck basically unaware of her abilities / what she is doing. There have been many cases where the crew accessed spiral power when it was supposed to be literally impossible / spiral power "not being in the area" or something. They can literally create stuff out of nothing.

Haruhi isn't a sitting duck. She is perfectly capable of defending herself. If Yuki can steal Haruhi's God powers, she should be able to steal Spiral powers as well. I don't remember the cast ever NOT having access to spiral power. The only time they had a lack of it was in the Death Spiral Machine where it was constantly getting sucked up but they were still able to produce more spiral energy (until Simon started to run out).

2. They don't have a finite limit of spiral power. Spiral power in and of itself is beyond infinite and based on willpower. Simons willpower is infinite by the end.

Based on what is his will power infinite at the end? It look very finite not too long before STTGL came out. It may be larger but I don't see what makes you think it's infinite.

3. Paralysis thing has been discussed its not going to work. The space within STTGL is basically its own closed zone ' super spiral universe (states by creators of GL) where the pilots are literally god mode within. etc

Do you remember where they said that? I remember them saying they can physically manifest things like Lordgenome did with a new body but I don't remember the they are literally gods part.

Also for people trying to argue the spacetime thing (even though STTGL could probably deal with even that I mean think about it STTGL could go BEYOND even that. Imagine him going into the Space time continnum plane or whatever then goes SPIRAL HAX and gets spiral energy from across the space time continuum....

But going off argument is Yuki Nagato literally that space continuum being or just the interface. That would be like arguing you couldn't truly kill Legion from Mass Effect until you destroyed every Geth hub.

STTGL can probably attack Yuki's true form. The pilots would never think to do that, though. Beat down everyone in front of them is how they always do things. I'm not familiar with Legion so I can't comment on that.
