I could but I don't exactly have any proof. I suppose I could always just send a newspaper an email and say 'Look into this'. Or I'd have to wait for the next time to he gives me a tip and tell someone before the match.

If nothing else, McCormack betting £2000 on a game is pretty shaky territory though imo.

EDIT: There's every chance it's just pure coincidence or slight inside information without being an actual fix. Like knowing in advance Bradford were playing for a draw and pens or something so the odds were generous.

Basically he's told me to bet 4 times on Bradford including last night. And 3 of his predictions have happened.

A guy from work is related to a Bradford City player and yesterday he told me to put money on them to win on penalties at 25/1. Which they did. Apparently Ross McCormack of Leeds had £2000 on them to win on penalties (him and Mikkell Forssell were drinking with his relative after the game). That's a pretty outlandish bet considering Bradford are 21st in League 2 and Sheff Utd are 5th in League 1.

He's also told me two other bets this season related to Bradford results that would have won.

He now wonders why I'm suspicious >_>

Chin up Justin. You're still in with a chance. Andylt overturned a 34 point deficit in 2k10 en route to winning and people have closed down huge ground before.

And that makes more sense Creative, will edit my post so nobody gets confused. I knew there was an average somewhere and then realised that 76 odd would have been way higher than 44 so was trying to think what it might be!

If you go to the website and Match Results then there's an average at the top in green. So like for the last match it was

Pokemon Trainer Red vs. Pokemon Trainer Blue 76.92% 44.09

EDIT: But there isn't like an entry that keeps track of all those scores combined.

I completely forgot about the vote-ins. Or rather I never looked at them so figured Falcon was an automatic entry. Serves me right for not paying attention to the preliminary contest stuff.

My x-stat math had this match at 77.2%
I'm curious how that came about. Without looking any numbers I thought X/Zero might be in the upper 70s, but then I saw Cloud's performance and figured they couldn't do much better.

Were you using 4-way X-stats or something?

This. I was blinded by Cloud's performance on Falcon. Even assuming Falcon is carrying dead weight I couldn't find the logic that would put a 60.73% and a 52.36% (I used 2k8 Zero due to being in with MM) with the same fanbase up to the 70%+ people were putting, nevermind 75%+ even if there was a rivalry boost.

Clearing I was majorly wrong. I just still can't see what was so bad about my logic =/

I upped mine from 77.5% to 80.7% despite thinking at the time that it K/Catherine would overperform and it would be lower than that prediction. I still have no idea why I did it. I guess because everyone else was raising theirs >_>

433 for me (46.001 average)
493 for you (45.976 average)

Err so some quick maths.

46.001 * 493 = 22678.49
45.976 * 493 = 22666.17

So roughly 12 points ish I guess. Well that won't be exact but it should be somewhere in that region.

EDIT: Which means it's a really tough task to catch Creativename and Ngamer's modern average since, lets be honest, our lifetime averages are inflated by not participating in the early contests with tougher penalties/lower averages.

I'm just happy to start better than last year where I ended up mired between 101st and 80th for the first quarter of the contest before fighting back to 21st. I think I was like 20 points adrift after 3-4 matches and 40 points adrift after 10.

Having such a terrible start last year was hard to take.

I can't believe how few people have RvP in their Fantasy Football teams. Literally nobody in any of my leagues have him and he is gold. The last three weeks he has bailed me out of terrible weeks.

By the end of this week he will have gotten me 55 points in 3 weeks and I didn't captain him this week so it could have been 74.

I'd have taken a draw before kick-off. I don't think the Gerrard goal was a free-kick but I can't deny that Liverpool were the better team either so can't really complain.

Also, I hope Van Persie has an absolutely blinder tomorrow. I have him as my Fantasy Football captain and most of the other popular choices for captain either aren't playing or are on the bench this week. Good grief does my team need it too.

Yeah it wasn't remotely harsh imo. He did a very similar thing last season to Gareth Bale and it ruptured his ankle ligaments. Parker was lucky not to be injured in a similar fashion. I mean it wasn't even like he won the ball, he was absolutely nowhere near it.

It could have been a straight red and I think the only reason it wasn't was because he was already on a yellow.

I think the Adam sending off was fair tbh. That was a horrible challenge and could have severely injured Parker. Whether Adam intended it or not (which I don't think he did), it's still bad and you simply don't go lunging in like that when you are already on a yellow card.

They weren't though and I say that as a Utd fan. The only difference between Utd and Chelsea in that first half is that Utd were absolutely clinical whilst Chelsea were not. Also, 2 of our goals were offside if I'm honest.

If we had gone into HT losing or drawing then I wouldn't have complained. And on a different day, I could have certainly seen that happening.

Oh and my Fantasy Football team is absolutely abyssmal this year. I've chanced it on too many differentials who have performed poorly. This week was just a kick in the nuts, I wanted Adebayor and Aguero in but I didn't want to drop RVP as I thought you guys had an easy run of fixtures. So I stuck with RVP and obviously backfired big time.

Instead of not letting mods get involved, they should just get rid of the terrible mods.

The problem is that the mods are seen as infallible when they are not. If the mods who constantly make mistakes or abuse their power were flagged up by other mods and thrown out after it happened X amount of times then it would go a long way to fixing the mod/user relationship. Instead when this happens it is just swept under the carpet or we are told that the mods were correct anyway.

And the sad thing is, I bet there's actually more good moderators than bad. It's just the bad ones are thrust into the spotlight so often than it ruins the mods reputation for those who are actually competent.

Part of Arsenal's problem is what it always has been, they are lightweight. And that's true even when everyone is back fully fit.

I really can't understand why Wenger hasn't even made some makeshift signings if his primary targets weren't available. You could have had Barton or Parker who would have both improved your midfield for cheap. Then there's the likes of Enrique who went for dirt cheap.

Realistically Wenger needs to swallow his pride and stump up the cash for Cahill. He can't expect to pay 6m for him when players of a similar level like Jones have gone for 18m.

Not going to gloat over the Utd score because I know Arsenal fans must already be devastated. It's probably a similar feeling to when we ge destroyed by Barcelona but more gutwrenching because at least we're trying to bridge the gap. So I sympathise with you guys.

I will say this though, that was possibly the worst Arsenal team I can remember man for man. I mean looking at the starting defence and midfield, how many of those players would have honestly get into the starting XI for Utd, City, Chelsea, Liverpool or Tottenham? Ramsey possibly and none of the others. Granted I know you have a lot injuries/suspensions but that just screams to me that there's no depth to your squad.

And Wenger can't use the excuse of being young and inexperienced anymore because Utd's average age was 23, Arsenal's was 23.6.

So yeah I really sympathise with you guys because Arsene really does need to go out ad buy some big, quality players like you have been screaming out for. Otherwise you're looking at 6th or dare I say it, worse. And if it doesn't get fixed then can you really see someone as good as Van Persie staying?

I'm a Utd fan and so inherently dislike Liverpool and even I can see they're a much improved, quality outfit this season. They won't be title challengers yet but you can't expect them to go from abject to champions in a season. They just have a suspect defence imo due to it being quite slow. They'll probably come 4th with maybe a 10-12 point between them and 3rd.
