It sucks, because many of us voted for Obama because he promised to stop the wars and bring the troops home, but he turned around and started even more wars than Bush. And nobody seems to care. Obama has practically silenced the anti-war voice. It's pretty frustrating.
From what I remember Obama said he was going to continue the Afghan war during his campaign. Not saying that isn't stupid and that Dr. Paul doesn't have way better ideas concerning war-related issues, but yeah.

Anybody else find it hilarious that liberals are the new warmongers?
You do realize it's not just liberals supporting the Kony thing, right? One of the points of the movement was that it transcended the whole liberals/conservatives distinction.

I just have a much more inclusive definition of "Communist" than most.
I think the word you're looking for is "wrong" rather than "inclusive".

There are people on this very board who wish George Lucas was dead just so the prequels never happened.
That's completely ridiculous, but that hasn't happened in this topic, so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up here. Whenever anyone says something negative about the prequels, even if they're legitimate complaints, I see you going "GOOD GOD STAR WARS FANS." Why are you doing this?
As for the prequels not being awful, obviously that's an opinion. I personally did think they were awful, though you could make the case for III merely being "bad". I didn't mean to say they're as bad as The Room, I was just bringing that movie up as an example.
And as for people here complaining about the prequels every other week - well, yeah, lately there's been a big increase in prequel bashing. Not sure why that is. We do have a lot of passionate Star Wars fans on the board, though, so it's understandable that "the prequels are terrible" is a subject you're going to see here with some frequency.

They're awful movies. Why should we suddenly stop complaining about them? I don't hear people saying we should stop talking about The Room, either.

The prequels look kinda cool, but you're always aware you're looking at a bunch of people walking in front of green screens. This is why, say, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is so much better, SFX-wise. Peter Jackson actually cares about making the environment in his movies look real.

Obligatory ranking: IV > V > VI > III > I > II
I guess you could maybe make the case for VI being equal to III. III is by far the best of the PT, and VI by far the weakest of the OT - I really don't care much for it. Still, there's nothing in III as good as the Emperor/Vader/Luke finale.
As far as the epic space battles go, I'd rank them: IV > VI > I > III. The battle in III is ruined by horrible Obi-Wan/Anakin dialogue.

The internet blows the suckage of the prequels way out of proportion.
No, it doesn't. The prequels are not on a Plan 9 from Outer Space level or anything, but they're still unbelievably bad. But if you expect movies solely to be visually pleasing and completely disregard story, dialogue and acting, then yeah, I guess you can make the case for them being enjoyable movies.

Are you saying that if all the millions of other Walmart customers kept shopping at Walmart, but only you stopped, then Walmart wouldn't change significantly? Is that really all you're trying to say?
Yes. And I'm saying this as an attack on TomNook's reasoning of "you shouldn't be afraid of corporations because you can always stop shopping at them." Like, I don't see why I should be less afraid of a corporation after ceasing to buy stuff from them, because that won't actually have much of an effect on the corporation. "You shouldn't be afraid of corporations because they don't control your lives" is reasoning I can get behind, however.
Are you saying that you should still fear a company that you don't even buy things from?
No, I'm not. Like I said, I'm not afraid of corporations. It was Tom who accused "liberals" of being "so afraid of corporations".

But if no one supported Walmart, they would cease to exist.
True, but that wasn't the point TomNook (which I was initially responding to) was making. I'm not afraid of corporations, but his "no reason to be afraid of corporations; you can always stop shopping at them!" reasoning is nonsensical. It's pretty likely that if I stop shopping at a corporation I'm afraid of, this won't actually have a major effect on this corporation.

Duh? Unless Walmart has some sort of secret unaccountable money printing power that lets them make money out of thin air.
I'm pretty sure Walmart wouldn't immediately go bankrupt if I would stop shopping there and tell a couple of friends to do the same. (Well, there actually aren't any Walmarts where I live, but let's assume there are for the sake of the argument.)

Regardless, I'm skeptical of Muffn's "if product A is better than product B, this will automatically result in a monopoly of the product A company in a free market system" reasoning. I wouldn't assume all consumers will always know what the better product is.

Why are liberals so afraid of corporations? Just stop shopping at/supporting them and encourage others to do the same.
You really think, say, Walmart would cease to exist if you stop shopping at it/supporting it?
Competition will always exist in a free market. The only time there would be no competition is if the consumers chose to have a monopoly because one company was truly THAT DAMN GOOD.
More people use Windows than Linux, but many would argue Linux is a better OS. You're assuming 100% of consumers are aware of what the best product is, but this isn't necessarily the case.

Needless to say this church supports some "leftist" issues, like gay marriage.
I'm not sure why gay marriage is a leftist issue. Ron Paul is right-wing, but he's not anti-gay marriage. He just believes the government should not be involved in marriage, gay or otherwise.

I think American religious people have a victim complex
they imagine hordes of bad people (atheists, agnostics, other religions) persecuting them constantly when it is either non-existent or exactly the opposite
This also goes for B8, actually. Some Christians complain they're in the minority here, but non-believers only have a slight majority. There may even be a 50/50 split.
