Its not every day you hear about women with desires like Tinas. Far more often than not, foot fetishists are depicted as men, and the vast majority of online foot content caters almost exclusively to their gaze. Remember Quentin Tarantino and his eternal, ever-public quest for feet? He famously sucked tequila off of Salma Hayeks toes in From Dusk Till Dawn, had Margot Robbie display her dirty feet in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and gave Uma Thurman an entire foot-close-up toe-wiggling scene in Kill Bill. Meanwhile, we almost never hear from women who like feet, and their cravings for high arches and sculpted soles often go unexplored. The continued prioritization of mens desire for feet doesnt help. Reddits multiple foot-fetish subreddits are nearly all created for mentheir homepages solely show pictures of female feet, and one of the biggest subreddits, r/FootFetish, warns that Female nudity is welcome here but male nudity is not allowed. Even the subreddits that feature mens feet, like r/malefeettalk, seem to cater to men. If you have a great gay or male foot fetish experience, this is the subreddit for you, the site declares. Female fetishists need not apply.

Thats why in 2021, Julie, a 50-year-old foot fetishist in Australia, decided to create r/footfetishforfemales. The 1,000-member subreddit is filled with men posting images of their feet for women to appreciate, usually with their soles on display. Ladies, do you like two-day old toe socks? wrote one poster above an image of his sock-clad feet. Yes please let me sniff, someone replied.

Womens foot preferences vary from clean to dirty, hairy to smooth, and high to low arches. But most women had one thing in common: They kept their fetishes mostly hidden. Because its such a taboo subject, I feel a lot of embarrassment and shame about it, Kaitlyn said. For the longest time I never knew women like me existed, and I thought I mustve been the only one. I always assumed it would be for the best that I never tell anybody, so I never have. But she wasnt great at hiding it. One of my exes actually confronted me about it, but I denied it, she said. The men were weirded out by her requests, so she changed tactics from professing her fetish to simply offering them foot rubs. Even that illuminated some stark gender differences. I have a stronger desire for mens feet, but womens are super easy to get my hands on, Lisa said. She thinks its because foot rubs can make men feel vulnerable and theyre less comfortable with the feeling than women.

Lisa has shared her foot fetish with some friends, and even rubbed and sucked some of their feet. When she met her now-husband, she decided she would ask him about his thoughts on foot fetishes before revealing hers, hoping hed be more open than other men. He was.

Though men with foot fetishes are certainly also stigmatized, Kaitlyn thinks women are more so. Researchers have quashed the theory that men who are unhappy with their penis size are more likely to own guns.

A study, carried out by sociologists at the University of Texas at San Antonio, found that men who are satisfied with the size of their genitals are more likely to own firearms, suggesting that the long-standing assumption linking insecurity over penis size to gun ownership may be inaccurate.

For the study, the researchers analyzed data from the 2023 Masculinity, Sexual Health, and Politics survey, using a sample size of 1,840 men aged 18 and over in the United States. Newsweek has contacted the authors for comment.

Study participants were asked to rate their satisfaction with their penis size when fully erect and whether they had ever used methods for penis enlargement.

The men were also asked if they owned any guns or military-style rifles, and if so, the total number of guns they possessed.

The findings showed that 43 percent of men reported owning a gun, with 11 percent owning military-style rifles, and only 7 percent of men had attempted some form of penis enlargement.

Specifically, each unit increase in penis size dissatisfaction corresponded to an 11 percent decrease in the likelihood of owning any gun. It was also linked to a 20 percent lower chance of owning a military-style rifle.

The full findings of the study were published in the American Journal of Men's Health.

Eroticism used to be common in studio movies like Challengers, which was released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Body Heat, Basic Instinct, An Officer and a Gentleman, Fatal Attraction, Disclosure, Cruel Intentions and Eyes Wide Shut are among the many examples from the 1980s and 90s.

In the 2000s, however, film companies started to obsessively focus on PG-13 franchises and animation genres that could play to a global audience and sell merchandise. Studios also wanted to expand into China, where censors do not allow sex scenes. As a result, steamy storytelling began to dwindle on the big screen (except at art house theaters). Premium television picked up the slack.

Sex in mainstream movies was pretty much gone by 2019, as Ann Hornaday, chief film critic for The Washington Post, wrote in a column that year. A few months later, Kate Hagen, writing in Playboy magazine, found that only about 1.2 percent of films released between 2010 and 2020 contained an overt sex scene, the lowest decade total since the 1960s. Women over 25 at 35% came out as well as women under 25 at 25%, but guys over 25 got pulled along as dates at 25%, with men under 25 at 14%.

It wasnt Zendayas girl fans who liked the movie the most, but men over 25 at 80%.

Overall best demo grades for Challengers came from the 25-34 bunch (80%, showed up at 37%) and 45-54 folks (82% grade, showed up at 4%).

The poll, which was launched to celebrate two decades of the BAFTA Games Awards when it celebrates its 20th anniversary on April 11, named Lara Croftthe Tomb Raider herselfas the number-one selection among players.
