it's a good game, is reviewing well, but if you're seeing an excessive amount of people praising an 8/10 game and calling it a 10/10 one, you gotta look at the fanbase and realize oh, there's a built in base here and they're going to give additional points to it because of where it's coming from. if the game was bad it'd get dunked on pretty hard too but instead it's a nice indie success story on all fronts, from the one man team to the file size to the publisher. the question was why is it getting extreme praise and all the "10/10!" when it's not and, well, that's the obvious answer.
the praise is coming because of who the publisher is.
big mode is dunkey's project of going from youtuber to gaming publisher and this is their first game released. basically he made a promise that games released here would be of a certain quality and he's living up to his standards.

Was your initial time at beginning of Oceanus? That was mine, and then 3 start of third region... think I made it there three times so far. Maybe i didnt get her one time if I got there 4x. Well maybe my runs tonight will be more fortunate!!
Almost as rude an awakening as Eris encounters (who's been there each time I made it to 3rd region and I'm getting really pissed off here)
the only other thing bothering me is the lack of a posted chamber number. Did people not like that in the original? Personally I liked knowing how far I was from the region's end, yeah there being a Charon room signifies that anyways but still, I'd like to get into the habit of knowing which chamber numbers mark the end of which regions.
Nemesis' Evil Eye trinket seems way worse than Odysseus' Knuckle Bones. Unless you go down to non-bosses, I guess.
It was also recently claimed that Switch 2 will continue to have Joy-Con controllers, but that theyll be larger than the current consoles and will use magnetic suction to connect to it rather the existing sliding rail technology.

Does it still have God Mode (or something equivalent)? That permanent stat-based progression between runs was important for me to stay engaged.
Duran isn't bis for Ratio I don't think. It takes a whopping four turns to max it even assuming an ultimate goes off which is way too long if you're trying to go fast compared to Salsotto and high end Glamoth. Probably worse than Sigonia for dedicated PFers like Herta and Himeko too, though you can at least see if that pays off. Definitely bis for Topaz though, and possibly Clara.
