I hate small town living, and hope to move back to the city someday. I like fresh produce, but in a city closer to the coast I could trade that for fresh seafood, and still get the good produce if I spend more. All I'd really miss is being able to go for a drive. Even then, the toxic air from the agriculture industry ruins it sometimes.

There are, but the midwest has less cities to break it up. And small towns are fine if you can quickly get to a decent city.

Rural areas in general suck ass. I don't know much about the cities out there, but the isolated small towns are almost certainly shit, by metric of being isolated small towns.

I mean, he's right that we're better off financially. The stimulus check wasn't too significant, but remote working saved most people thousands a year on gas and vehicle repair, even with higher gas prices. Raises were dramatically higher on average, so income has gone up quite a bit. Unemployment and payroll loans were a huge influx of money, and most were able to turn that into more money, few had to pay it back.

It's frustrating to look at the cost of groceries because the number isn't what you remember as reasonable. But in actuality, you can afford it better. Most people are significantly more comfortable financially.

The last 10 minutes are so are great. The theme of violence and war ultimately overwhelming civilization, the confrontation between Taylor and Dr Zaeus, and the ending are worthwhile. They don't make up for the rest of the movie, but that stuff was good.

Almost all burgers should have cheese. It has to have a lot of other toppings for cheese to fail to be a straight upgrade. Getting a burger without cheese is a failure.

Mayo is a downgrade to most burgers though. It has to pair with specific other toppings, otherwise mayo is a downgrade. At the very least it needs lettuce and tomato, an a toasted bun (or roll if it's a cheeseburger sub).

The value of tattoos is significantly higher than the actual price. It's understood by everyone that the a significant part of the pay is issues through tip. This way the artists pay a bit less in taxes.

People egregiously lie about how "easy" it is to immigrate to America. It takes at least 15 years to become a citizen unless you're a parent, child, or spouse. Brothers, cousins, aunts or uncles, that takes 15 years minimum.

NYT is being deliberately misleading. Cases like this won't take anywhere close to 20 months. It will be quickly resolved, and the charges for her arrest and any fines that go with them will be dropped.

And yeah, it sucks, but for every case like this, there are 4000 abusive boyfriends that kick out their girlfriend and sell her stuff because she's technically not on the lease. Squater's rights exist (and are primarily used, by many orders of magnitude) to protect those people.

Another minor aspect is that Jimmy feels that Howard is still looking down on him. Offering him a job is offering a hand up, which to Jimmy means recognizing Howard as above him or superior. Reminds him of Chuck. And lines up with Kim's feelings towards Howard, so they just go off.

Unrelated, but think about Nacho meeting Eladio. Compare it to Jesse meeting Eladio, and to Hector's driver meeting Eladio. He's under more scrutiny, but he still holds up better than either.

There's a difference between light hearted joking and disparaging. The former is actually a good thing, and can help destigmatize. The latter is a bad thing, and holds back progress.

Always Sunny made jokes about trans people, and it was a good thing. Chappelle intentionally spreads hate speech and uses humor as a shield. That's a bad thing.

If I'm getting one pizza, it shouldn't have an alternative sauce. If there's company and we're getting like 3 pizzas, I like one to have buffalo, bbq, ect so I can have a slice of that and a slice with normal sauce.

Pretty sure that doesn't work. If your clock is changed at all, all time events are reset, and won't advance for 24 hours. And even then you'll have to wait until after midnight for things to advance

I think those are the few pokemon you still technically need third gen games for, even though you can catch them natively.

Although maybe they're in the safari zone. I know that I personally transferred them.

Btw, after finishing the national dex in gen 4, a playthough of Black or White (one) is a ton of fun. You just "caught em all," and now you have a whole new region with the largest dex. It's exciting to explore the grass in each new area, because you know the pokemon will be stuff you don't have yet.
