It's certainly a bad sign rather than a good sign, but I'm pretty sure the needle was point towards Trump at around this point in 2020 as well.

I have very vague memories of 2016's needle actually, it was the moment I realized it was all over. I just remember people posting pictures of it as it went further and further, then I went to bed and when I woke up it was all over.

This just doesn't seem to be going well so far. Or at least, not as well as I was hoping.

I think it's not as bad as I thought at first but Trump is up with heavy Democratic counties reporting at higher percentages (of votes counted) than the state as a whole. There's also more Republican counties than I initially thought however for which this is also true.

Also yes it is early, still at <40% total reporting
