Maybe all the "fuck fandom" posts are actually going to get us deleted faster?
That statement on transphobia was """subtly""" anti-trans to start with so this strikes me as pretty consistent.

Politics will be more of a grey area as it is hard to define, so we are intentionally leaving that vague while hopefully having alignment from a moderation POV and dealing with the one-offs from there. Hornyposting and transphobia will be getting something added soon. But we had a few mishaps internally where it got delayed.

Understandable frustration, honestly while we do have alignment mostly internally(staff and mods). It isn't an excuse for not having those up sooner. I mentioned it in another topic but it got delayed because of a few mishaps.

And yes, "intentionally vague" so you never know what can or will be modded.
In what way?The huge post, list of resources, and focus on how "everyone" must be accepted and that "heated discussion" must remain "civil" is a fairly obvious message to trans people to either make sure bigots feel comfortable or to leave. I fully believe they'll mod blatant transphobia but between the politics ban, removal of the Sexuality board, and the horrendous both-sidesing in the anti-transphobia post it's loud and clear that they're going to moderate trans people for making bigots uncomfortable much more harshly than the reverse.

I could be wrong but like. Look at what's going on and tell me you trust any of these fucking people.
Edit: to clarify why the post being large is a clue -- if they actually had an issue with transphobes, they'd just say "transphobes fuck off or get banned", you don't need to elaborate much.

If it's any consolation, the discussions I've seen regarding transphobia and what will be modded indicate a much tighter leash on anti-trans rhetoric than before with much harsher punishments for it.
Fuck you fandom
btw I've asked and there are 0 plans to close Board 8 at allI know you're just reporting what they've said but there is very little chance this will hold imo
Now granted corporate guys above Toast could turn around and hand out a new edict tomorrow, but just based on what has been flagged up, the ones closed today are the final closures that will take place
btw I've asked and there are 0 plans to close Board 8 at allI wish this could be comforting to hear but the admins have been so insanely cagey and contradictory about everything that's happened in the past two weeks that it actually feels meaningless.

I know you're just reporting what they've said but there is very little chance this will hold imoIt makes sense to me. Corporate overlords have 'reason' to close boards related to Religion, Sexuality, etc. Who knows what drama might be brewing in those dens of inequity? People might be expressing opinions!
Take a quick look at all the communities timmy has "managed"Such as? I genuinely don't know.
If they're "just" banning topics that can sometimes be divisive like religion, politics, all that...we may have more time. It's funny because the most toxic boards in the site's history have all been gaming boards.
It's funny because the most toxic boards in the site's history have all been gaming boards. The Politics board was actually pretty bad. It got astroturf'd hard by chuds with endless alt accounts. Other than that, yeah.
This would suggest they have concrete plans for this site at all
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/features/content_rulesis it just me or is there still nothing about politics in there
User rules got updated. "8. Hornyposting" is hilarious. Especially since all this shit was approved at a corporate level.

Every time I looked at the politics board it was like a few chuds getting absolutely nonstop clowned on by normal peopleI don't know man, I have a ton of people on Ignore and pretty much all of them were from the Politics board, and that place was still rough to read through. I don't actually blame the mods for closing that one down because it probably quadrupled their total workload. Even if yes, in retrospect that was not the best precedent to set.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/features/content_rulesWe're literally being run by a bunch of techbros.

That actually seems quite a bit more lenient than I was expecting.Blanket ban on a nebulous "objectification" is doing a lot of work there (even if I agree with it in theory)
