Actually, with the new playoff OT rules do you really want the ball first? Isn't it closer to college OT now where since you're guaranteed a possession you'd kinda want to go second to see what you need if the first team scores?

These new rules are... interesting. I like that both teams get to possess the ball no matter what, then it's sudden death.

Also Santa Clara made the right call. Romo is right that it gives their defense a break. Also is more likely to put the pressure on the Chiefs.

I kinda like taking the ball first. It's an interesting call, though. No correct choice.

If you defer, you know what you have to do when you get the ball 2nd.

If you take it first, and both teams get the same score after two drives, you have the first opportunity to win the game.
