I don't think there's any rush. It sounds like someone leaked it, so Rockstar dropped it early.

Looks good though. No gameplay, but that looks all in-engine. Will have to see how the final product holds up though, wouldn't be the first game to lose some polish between the original trailer and launch.
Still the number one reason for the success of the Internet.

Yeah that looks mostly in-engine, though not final gameplay, instead of CG there. The start seems to be CG, and a couple of CG inserts but mostly not.

Looks pretty interesting. Definitely more excited for them to get back to Red Dead though.

Looks pretty damn good actually. Love how theyre going all in on making fun of florida. 80s vice city was like a cool place to get away, and 2023 vice city is just idiots and alligators

The early leak I saw said Vice City will be 3 times as big as Los Santos in V, with 2 other cities approaching LS in size, so this seems small.

also thats an insane amount of open water if its accurate

Looks like a playable female character too! About time.

Definitely gonna preorder this since I'll certainly have a PS5 by then. And those graphics are, as expected, HOLY SHIT. Just like GTAV's were back in the day!

It's still the king. Open world has been done so much now it makes you wonder what they can do to stay ahead, but it's just so loved.

Came in to post this. Only ever played a couple hours, BSing with my brother, getting our star rating up and whatnot.

Bought the Series X version for like 10 bucks at some point. Will definitely play through it before VI comes out.

It's just "this is the setting and those are the main characters" type of trailer.

And considering the 2025 release date, they can take their time with those trailers

It was definitely free on EGS at one point because I have it there. It's also on Game Pass at the moment.

It's still surprising to me that I haven't played it. I loved the shit out of San Andreas and enjoyed 4. But I just never got around to 5 and so it remains on my prodigious backlog. I think I'm going to make a conscious attempt to get to it in the next few months.

I played the PS3 version to 100% but never really bothered to play the campaign again on PS4 or PS5 Even though I wanted to try the first person mode

Releasing on multiple platforms at once means releasing the game later. Look at Hogwarts Legacy this year: PS5/XSX/PC in Feb, PS4/XB1 in May, Switch in November. And it was still a mess on PC at launch despite that staggered schedule.

Neat trailer. I wonder what GTA6 is gonna do to distinguish itself, though -- Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 set a true new gold standard for open world gaming, and it feels like 'just' having basic driving and gunplay would be a huge step down from it. Rockstar's gonna need to add a special something something to keep up with the competition now.

RDR2 seems like a look at what the series might move towards.

RDR2 felt like an RPG lol. It had a full on morality mechanic, more stats and equipment, more random encounters. The GTA games head more and more in that direction too.

That's probably a good play I think. Part of why CP77 2.0 (+ Phantom Liberty) is an extremely strong contender for GotY in an year absolutely full of killer games is that it's not just a classic open world game, or a classic RPG, or a classic FPS, but is superlative at all three genres at once. I think either enhancing the RPG side OR the gunplay is absolutely necessary for GTA6 to make the same splash past GTAs have pulled off.

I wouldn't be surprised if we never get GTA7. The online for GTA6 could just keep adding new maps forever like Fortnite instead. Every few years add a new city or whatever.

5 could've done this too, but at some point there's a fatigue and you have to kickstart it again with a sequel. Fortnite will have to do it too, unless it goes all in on the user-created platform stuff.
