Im surprised they would announce a TYD remake when RPG has yet to release. I feel like itll hurt its sales.

Which one are you getting? Im getting RPG.

probably both eventually but TTYD is higher priority, just because I haven't played it yet (even though I own it)

I have more of a reason to get SMRPG because the game is going to differ much more than the original versus TTYD HD and TTYD, and I still have my GameCube hooked up to my TV with TTYD if I ever wanted to go back to it.

But I also didn't like SMRPG on the SNES and thought it was overrated. But maybe changes will address that. I'm already impressed with the music.

I played SMRPG and TTYD within the last 10 years so I'm still pretty good on waiting for both of these. Might buy these way later if I ever feel an itch to play either game again.

Not played either, but I've heard so much great stuff about TTYD and I don't really like the look of SMRPG so probs TTYD. Are they both full price?

Really strange they skipped Paper Mario remake just to remake this one then.

I at least understand skipping Mario & Luigi 2 since that one was pretty bad.

They probably skipped the first one because the original is available as part of the Switch Online N64 catalog and has been available to play on previous consoles as opposed to TTYD which hasn't seen the light of day since the Gamecube.

With that said, they should've remade both and released them together.

Paper Mario 1 has a different artstyle from later games, I wonder if they'd really modernize it.

TTYD is my favorite Mario RPG ever made....Super Mario RPG is dead last (yes below the two Mario > Luigi games I've played, those being the first two). It's fun enough, but I didn't find it to be anything special without nostalgia. I also played FFVI for the first time right before it and loved it to pieces, so that one didn't need nostalgia.

I'm worried newcomers to both games will play SMRPG first and then think "yeah that was fine, guess I can skip TTYD" and they really shouldn't :(

Never played either. Since nothing better was announced, I'll be getting Mario RPG with my leftover voucher, and will get TTYD whenever it comes out next year.
Change is weird.
