Been slow lately. Crypto seems to have come back down to earth. Stocks are still volatile overall. Need more IPOs since they seem to be the quickest way to make massive gains.
Small caps have been wildly swingy. Been buying on low days and selling on high days

Knew I should have bought SOFI yesterday. I'm still at a loss on it, but I'm holding.
<D
SOFI seems to be in a similar pattern as OSTK. Perhaps both are good buy and holds.
That has always been my intention with SOFI. I believe it is undervalued. Only reason I don't want to buy more is due to my risk tolerance and time horizon.

Not sure if I am built for this aggressive positions life.

My last 4 days have been up 7% down 4% down 4% up 8%

I'm assuming market is closed tomorrow so today's the last day to harvest any losses.

Actually I'm pretty sure last day to harvest losses was yesterday due to how settled funds work

And also I know market is open tomorrow because there are options that expire tomorrow.
No problem!
This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Weird, I guess the stock market does not observe a holiday if it falls on the weekend like most other places.

And I've never heard of the settled date deciding it, I believe it's the trade date, though I've never done much on the last day before.

I bought a card for 700 last month.

Someone just paid me 3200 for it today.

Pokemon stonks up
Sir Chris
SOFI still going up, OSTK going down. I think OSTK is a buy after today.
OSTK earnings is 2/23, give or take. I reckon it could start running up in anticipation. Its been crushing earnings.
Nancy Pelosi bought lots of calls on tech stocks the past two weeks: https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov//public_disc/ptr-pdfs/2021/20020106.pdf

That's enough for me to be bullish.
I have discovered a truly marvelous proof, which this signature is too narrow to contain.
She was buying 400c's on NVDA too.

Yes, that was over the summer. Back then, that $400 was on the old nvda price (equivalent to buying $100 strike price now). She will definitely make a lot of money off those.

Sold OSTK $53p for 12/7, $1500 premium. No way it goes down 10% in one week at this point. Right?!
Neon we going up or down from here

I should have invested in a Roth IRA sooner.

Anyway, I put in 12k last year (for 2020 and 2021) and I already maxed out contributions for this year. I've never invested this much at once, but I imagine it's the best move for retirement purposes.

My Roth IRA is a mix of various ETFs and I decided to put more into dividend ETFs (which is what I want to do across my accounts). I feel like with inflation, getting dividends that should hopefully grow with inflation and reinvesting them is the way to go.

I think I like the Pelosi method of buying deep ITM calls. It's a way of getting leverage without the potential for a margin call.

I really think OSTK is going to go up at least 20% at some point within the next two months.
The OSTK long term graph is a wild ride. $70 to $5 to $84 to $4 to $121. I think they've also been fighting short sellers for like 17 years.

Saw an interesting study at WSB regarding following Jim Cramer's picks. Apparently, over the last 5 years, daytrading Cramer's buy recommendations (buying at open the day after the show airs and selling at close the same day) outperformed the S&P 500 by an astonishing 1102%. Holding for longer periods underperformed the S&P 500 suggesting that the short-term advantage comes from Cramer's viewers piling into the recommended stocks and not because they are actually better stocks than the market average to hold.

This is surprising because I would have expected the jump to have already happened by market open. But apparently a lot of people watch Cramer and buy at some point during the next day other than market open.

Ouch. There has to be a rebound coming soon.
The Fed is talking about increasing interest rates faster and selling bonds into the market (!). Welp. Hopefully the market's been pricing it in over the last year or so.

Sheesh. Yeah, OSTK is down 8% so far today. I need it to stay above $53.
Yeah, so selling bonds is a big deal. When the Fed prints money, how it does it is it prints money and uses it to buy bonds. So if they are going to sell bonds, that means they are going to destroy money. Hopefully they will clarify just how much money they plan to destroy. The fear is justifiable in the interim.

Interesting mini SOFI article from Thursday that Im sure a lot of you already know. Basically its waiting for some bank charter news that would send it up a lot. No idea what its supposed to happen though:

SoFi stock dips to lowest since de-spac as investors await bank charter

SoFi Technologies (SOFI -1.0%) stock dropped as low as $13.01 in Thursday trading, its lowest point since it first started trading after its merger with Chamath Palihapitiya's SPAC, Social Capital Hedosophia Holdings V.

That's 41% below its opening trade of June 1, 2021, its first day as a publicly traded company. Remember that the fintech is waiting for approval to acquire Golden Pacific Bancorp, a tiny bank that would give SoFi (NASDAQ:SOFI) a national bank charter. That would allow the company to start accepting deposits and making loans using member deposits.

SA contributor Tyler Okland digs into what the bank charter means for SoFi's business, what its Galileo product does, and how student loan repayment extensions will affect its profitability.
Any good IPOs coming out soon? Those seem to be the best way to make (and lose) huge money quickly.
https://www.marketwatch.com/tools/ipo-calendar

HOUR had its IPO on Friday and went up 100% at close, was even higher at some points. No idea what it is.
JustWorks (JW) comes out this week. Looks like it definitely has potential to be good.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/justworks-sets-ipo-terms-looks-to-raise-up-to-224-million-and-be-valued-at-up-to-2-billion-2022-01-04

Currently estimated to open around $30 but we all know how thats gonna go.
TPG also is having its IPO this week, also priced around $30. Not sure what this company is. Will research later.
ow my portfolio
