Episode 7 was the only good episode, the rest was garbage. 3/10 and I intensely regret the time I spent watching it.

I headbang to Bruckner.
I didn't watch the dub at all but if the voice acting of the 'VIP' characters was indicative of the quality of the dub, I'm very glad I didn't.

Those guys were absolutely horrendous.

Go Dennison!
Only dub that really bothered me was the woman who had sex in the bathroom. Her voice-acting just did not connect. The rest worked enough for me and my family.

Interesting show! I like the comment from earlier about the theme regarding the illusion or even the attempt of equality versus the reality in execution (so to speak). The show speaks a lot to debt and desperation as well as the voyeurism from the financially stable, but this resonated with me too.

And yeah there are some points of the show that doesn't hold up under scrutiny, I think that's fair to say. Still engaging.

Yeah, this. Honestly surprised by the amount of people who watched it that way. I thought that was one of those common sense things to avoid.
Bells, bells, bells!
I just wouldnt have watched it subbed tbh. I wasnt really interested and just played it while doing other things to see what the fuss was about

Late to the party but I just finished watching it. Pretty enjoyable! And naturally set up not only for sequels, but prequels, hell they can even go international. Will it being SK-based save it from oversaturation? We'll see how much Netflix wants to milk this, I guess.

It also was making me think about Kaiji and how more people need to watch Kaiji. I was literally going to make a new "If you liked Squid Game, go watch Kaiji" topic but figured I'd pop in here and saw a couple of other people make that argument so I guess I'll just echo that.

So yeah, go watch Kaiji, a two-season anime from the mid-2000s, I think? You really won't be disappointed! Seriously gripping and really emphasizes the drama and psychological torment of the games. Great music, great characters. No idea what streaming service it's available on, if any.

Kaiji has a decent-enough ending but I always wanted more (since the manga went further), now the dream is somehow Squid Game resurrecting Kaiji anime interest and getting the miracle Season 3 created...!

Finished it. Overall I think it was decent, I never felt bored, but I was never hyped or had any emotional feeling towards it, despite how many scenes were supposed to make me feel something

Night riot was the closest moment to be a hype moment for me, and episode 6 was the closest to emotional feeling.
The thing is that it was a nice show, but considering how much it exploded in popularity despite being a "foreign show" I feel like it wasn't justified. And I say this as one that found Money Heist hype to be justified

I agree with much of the criticism in the topic.
The glass game sucked
The main character decisions in the final episode sucked too

I didn't mind the 001 twist because I thought something was amiss, they dropped plenty of hints (I didn't notice any of the hidden ones though, and rewatching the tug-o-war I don't see it either but whatever). The most obvious to me was how they made his "death" be off screen

What I did mind and nobody complained about it yet, is the Front Man being the cop brother. There are 456 players. The staff is about 100 people too or maybe more. But out of 600~ people, the Front Man is the brother of the cop? really? I hate the "small world" trope
wololo
Also before I watched it I read somewhere that the director said there are no plans for season 2

Who the fuck are you fooling with this lmao
As if the whole cop sub-plot and then the ending were not setting it up for a sequel
wololo
The cop appears on the island and then wanders around by himself doing things completely unrelated to the rest of the plot, until he wanders into a dead end and is killed without affecting the plot in any way.

Needless to say, the reason I didn't complain about him is because he's totally uninvolved in the story and you may as well just forget that he existed.

I really liked the cop in disguise parts until the horrible nothing ending of that plot

Been a bad girl, I know I am. And I'm so hot, I need a fan. I don't want a boy, I need a man.
Just finished this tonight. Was pretty engrossed most of the way through, but the ending really flopped for me. Too many unresolved plot points, and not a particularly satisfying conclusion. I know its sequel bait but it would have been nice to have a bit more resolution. Also they really did my girl Sae-Byeok dirty.

Episode 6 was great though. And yeah, turned the dub off like 5 minutes in.
