Noice.

Lopen I got 50 of those Feb 19 calls and I'm going to get 50 March calls too.

So I don't actually have authority to exercise these calls any time when they're ITM? They exercise automatically when they're ITM upon expiration or expire worthless if they're not, is that how it works?

Welcome to your Divinity.
You can exercise them at any time even if they're out of the money technically. Not sure how your interface works but yeah you could. Not sure why you'd want to exactly but you know, it's there

I'm going to just wait for it to stabilize a bit before getting my remaining $3 calls. $0.50 was the price I set for myself (break even on $3.50) so I don't really want to spend more on it. Feb is possible to be lucrative but I'm gonna stick to the process and go with the March ones.
No problem!

so I went with a little AJAX and RBAC ($500 of each). Not sure where AJAX is going but RBAC might be my way to own the Red Sox so why not :)

VGAC is also tempting for something quick, but that's not really my style with SPAC so I dunno

IIRC there's no way to exercise calls on the standard Ameritrade app/site but you can on the thinkorswim version, which I have too.

Okay, I'm following this game plan and holding off on the March calls too. If the price lowers a bit, I don't mind selling these Feb 19 calls for a small loss, assuming people still want them next week. But people took my weird ass GME puts so shouldn't be hard!

Welcome to your Divinity.
I still want to buy some GME puts to sell them and make some quick bucks. Should be less volatile now that the volume is dying, so better premiums right?

what puts do I buy guys

$3 ATHX calls seems dumb.

I'm considering $2 ATHX calls though
Put an order in for 10 $2 ATHX April 16's at $1.25. we'll see if they fill. I won't lose sleep over them
I don't really get the logic behind in the money calls for cheap stocks. At that point just buy the stock imo

Because I dont want to burn $50 a contract on time value when I can get it nearly for free.

I'm still effectively getting 2X shares with a leap without paying for the time value
Bought my $11 calls from last week back for $0.58 (net change of $0.65, cost basis down to about $11)

Think I'm gonna sell some fairly aggressive EOW calls if it bounces.

Calls executed when the price dropped, so I guess Im along for the ATHX ride with you guys till April!

The real downside Loren, is the the volume of options is way lower than ATM options. For instance TD thinks I just lost $400 because the current highest buy order is 40 cents.... on a $2 option of $2.90 stock.... (Market orders will kill you friends)

So getting out of this position would be really really difficult. I signed up for 1000 shares and Im not getting out of them. The upside being I spent $1,250 for the upside of a $3,000 investment
Exiting isn't really difficult. Thing with low volume options is you just look at the Ask or the Bid. The other one doesn't really convey any useful information. But yeah volume is low because I assume most traders share my sentiment about buying a heavily in the money stock that only costs $3 to begin with.

Even on low volume though the bid won't go below the break even. So if it went up to say $3.50 you could easily exit by selling at the bid which would be $1.50 minimum-- and it'd probably be a bit higher than that, what you end up getting.

I'd much rather just buy the stock and sell calls though.

Looks like GME collapsed - now I really regret my limit sell order yesterday not executing at $111. On the other hand, the magic of limit orders allowed me to sell 2 batches of SPCE at $59.80 and $61.80 today. The amount of time it was up there was so short that it doesn't even show up on the Google graph.

So in the end why didnt the GME thing work? It cant just be because of the fucking with retail traders.

Did the hedge funds just have diamonder hands and held out longer?
Would have to deep dive but considering stocks only go up with demand and demand was ceased artificially.....

Assuming the numbers from S3 are accurate, they bought north of 40 million shares on Thursday and Friday last week. The average price they paid would probably have been around $300 average, for losses probably in the 11 billion range. So they did get squeezed, just not infiniti squeezed. Enough people were willing to sell around $300 for them to escape.

Hedge funds have infinite money and every institution that could keep them in check bought and paid for.

They were caught off guard once and then adapted their strategy to change the rules and manipulate the market in their favor.

It's hard for retail to go up against that when these people can just do every illegal trick in the book and have no fear of consequences.

Holy fucking christ ENZC. I sold at .40 when it started dipping, BUT THEN TRIED TO BUY BACK at .38 and I couldn't because I accidentally bought something else partially on margin, didn't even realize I had touched margin when I sold it for a small loss to throw more at ATNF

But since I sold margin on a loss, I have to wait to buy anything. They enforce settlement perioda if you sell even $10 of margin for a loss, and the whole point I have a margin account for is to not wait for settlement periods. I use very little margin if I ever use it. Now I can't get all the ENZC I want back nor can I add more to ATNF

Would've had over a 15k trade on ENZC when it hit +50% for the day, putting me really close to 100k again. Goddammit

Welcome to your Divinity.
Stopping a large portion of the interested parties from being able to place buy orders was a large factor I think. It was such a gut check to momentum that by the time they could switch to other brokers the enthusiasm has cooled, also because in the mean time it was much easier to manipulate the price back down.

I'm convinced in an alternate reality where the clearing houses weren't able to almost completely stop buying that it hits 1000 easily. But you give everyone 5 days to see people fortunes evaporating and suddenly reality sets in.

So the bandwagoners were weak when it got to around $300?

The GME thing DID work, if you don't think a stock worth $5 going to $400 is working I don't know what to tell you. We made lots of money on it.

ExTha didnt!

(I was never able to get in on it at all. I am in on AMC though)
If you are wondering why it didn't go up higher, it seems really simple. People didn't sell, but people also didn't BUY. In order for the price to be high you need buyers who are willing to buy at the price.

If there are 100 chairs, and 90 of them are bought at $400, but the last 10 are sitting around and people are buying and selling them for $50, then the chairs are worth $50 even if the 90 never show up again.
I mean it should have gone up higher if no one sold. The thing is the people selling short HAD to buy because of accrued interest on their short sells. Fake buyers can buy and sell all day to themselves at lower prices but unless the market makers cover their investments the price ultimately goes up.

Their games worked is all it means. They paid a hefty sum but if more people had diamond hands they could have paid that much more.

Even if nobody that bought sold, you could still have people who weren't involved sell. There were probably funds who had thousands of shares sitting around who had no incentive to hold sell, and that's all it takes
The question is if those funds had more shares than were currently being shorted

I feel like the random third parties that had no stake would have been more than tapped out well before the $200-$300 range.

I'm gonna laugh when ENZC, a stock I bought on a whim with like 15 minutes of learning about the company, passes AVCTW soon

The more I DD the more I dig it though. Gonna be averaging up here hard when I get access to my funds again.

Ill get in some warrants when I sell stuff tomorrow AM.
Meh decided to sell out of AMC and sell 21 $7 Puts expiring next week with the money from selling the shares.

If these time out my cost basis will be down to $10 or so which isn't all that bad considering I sold at $7.70? Still a small loss (I mean not really these are lost gains since I bought in at $4.45 and sold most of my shares at $13 but you know)

Of course possible AMC goes back up and leaves me in the dust. We'll see. I'm okay with that.
