It's small things like that but I can't recommend it enough if you've got your parents here still. Just make the time and do it even if it seems tough to do with everything going on in your life.
As someone who lost both parents over the last 8 years, I'll second this. Don't go Cat's Cradle on them (unless you have a shitty relationship.)
