man you guys are so cool and hip for knowing and not explaining
wish I could be so cool and hip
yeah I saw that post
I just don't get the aversion to communication.
like this one time years ago in WoW I asked in general chat where a place was, and got shit on so much by people being like "just fucking look it up"
but..why? I'm just trying to chat and interact with people. pretend we're standing around talking. I don't understand this idea that to type a sentence that actually has meaning and context is such a big taboo chore.

Would saying "it's a reference to an abortion comic" make a lot of sense? My options were to either do that, describe the context in enough detail for you to get it, link it myself, or name it like I did. The first choice isn't helpful, I'm too lazy to do the second, and the third is useful, but, like, do it yourself.
A better analogy would be you asking where a particular chest is, where just looking it up for yourself in much easier than having people try to describe its location for you, especially when there are plenty of helpful guides out there that would make finding it painless.

it's a meme that spawned from people parodying a web comic about abortion
whammo
That's a useless description that does nothing to say why the video is a reference to it. I'd need to post a picture of it to show the relevance and mention the structure and at that point it's just not an effective way to communicate it.
anyway, as for the WoW comparison...my whole point is that "getting the person to the coordinates with minimum effort and time possible" is not really the primary goal. the interaction is a valuable part of it.
I'm just kinda venting about an old frustration of mine which is only tangentially related to this so it's not worth going on about. but it's always bothered me that our society draws a direct link between "most convenience possible" and "best possible"

I don't get it, CAD is dumb and will always be dumb.
This is dumb.
*sees the SMW gif*
*sees the loss comic*
*sees the gif again*
I'm not sure how they're related. The position of the shells?

do you think the meme is approving of the comic?

And saying "loss" with no context does more?
At first i was trying to understand if the video was supposed to be portraying the abstract concept of loss somehow. i had to reason to suspect that "loss" was a very specific meme.
