What you are picking:
1. Which team will win -- and by how much?
2. Do you LOCK your pick in?
3. Pick a Spread that will make your team win in the event you both pick the wrong team (Ex: Jets +3.5)
4. How many points will be scored in the game
5. How many passing yards will be thrown in the game
6.How many rushing yards will be rushed for in the game?
Bonus: Do you wish to remove the LOCK tiebreaker? (A unanimous decision by all remaining players removes the LOCK tiebreaker)

Quick Explanation:

Scenario A: Both users pick different teams.
Whichever player picks the correct team, advances.

Scenario B: Both users pick the same team, and are right.
Whichever player is closer to the score difference advances (over or under)
Next tiebreaker: Lock (Unless unanimous decision removes the lock). If one player locks, and the other doesn't, the player who locked advances.
Next tiebreaker: Points scored in the game
Next tiebreaker: Total Passing yards
Next tiebreaker: Total Rushing Yards
Final Tiebreaker: Higher Seed advances

Scenario C: Both users pick the same team, and are wrong
Whichever player has a lower spread that still wins
Next tiebreaker: Lock (Unless unanimous decision removes the lock) if one player locks, and the other doesn't, the player who did not lock advances.
Next tiebreaker: Points scored in the game
Next tiebreaker: total passing yards
Next tiebreaker: Total rushing yards
Final tiebreaker: Higher Seed advances

Scenario D: One player does not send a pick, the other sends a wrong pick
The player who sent a pick advances.

Scenario E: Neither player sends a pick
The higher seed advances, with a 3 point penalty on all tiebreakers in the next round.

Growing up, I wish some teacher told me "You probably won't ever need this, but if you don't learn it, you might miss out on something really cool."
Oh, I didn't realize the spread pick comes in before the LOCK as a tiebreaker. So, just speaking off the top of my mind, I maybe have two issues with the current system:

1. To me it seems kind of weird that we answer the LOCK question second, but the spread applies before the LOCK despite the fact it's listed after, numerically. Just a matter of semantics (or categorization, or something...) now that I realize I was mistaken earlier, so not that big a deal, but I thought I'd mention it since I found it a little confusing.

2. It also seems off to me to vote along with our picks to potentially nullify one of the tiebreakers we're also simultaneously making picks for.

I'd personally rather vote for it (whether through PM or in this thread) before we make our picks, just so we all know where we stand before making picks that include LOCKs.

Unless I'm mistaken, and whatever resolution we get to that only applies in later weeks. In that case, it's safe to ignore this.

All of that is just my personal opinion though, and I won't be upset or anything if things remain as they are. Just thought I'd share my view on it.
Yeah, sorry. I put them out of order because I just copied/pasted from last week.

Here's the proper order:
1. Which team will win -- and by how much?
2. Pick a Spread that will make your team win in the event you both pick the wrong team (Ex: Jets +3.5)
3. Do you LOCK your pick in?
4. How many points will be scored in the game
5. How many passing yards will be thrown in the game
6. How many rushing yards will be rushed for in the game?
Bonus: Do you wish to remove the LOCK tiebreaker? (A unanimous decision by all remaining players removes the LOCK tiebreaker)

The Lock will be removed next week (assuming a unanimous vote by remaining players), unless everyone decides to remove it by Thursday at 4:40 PM EST. (Two days in advance of the first game, so everyone knows where they stand as far as locks go)

I will vote to remove it, since I'll be removing it next year. I'm not sure the risk/reward is even enough. If you both get it right, chances are low you're going to the next tiebreaker anyway. If you both get it wrong, chances are much higher that you'll actually advance to the LOCK tiebreaker.

I fourthly will vote to remove the lock option.

I'll go ahead and @ everyone else just in case they haven't read through the topic yet but would want to vote prior to tomorrow's deadline.

@foxhead84 @terpaholic @Crescent-Moon @Buffy_Summers
Can't decide what to think about the LOCK option. I'll go with whatever everyone wish.

Oh yeah, and I need a volunteer to take mine and Crescent's picks.
Growing up, I wish some teacher told me "You probably won't ever need this, but if you don't learn it, you might miss out on something really cool."
I don't mind doing that but I probably won't be able to post them here once the game starts.

It's fun to follow the game knowing what you need to win. So you might want to go with someone who can post them as soon as the game starts

I also don't mind doing it, and I should be able to post them when the game starts since it's the early game Saturday.

So, do we have to choose to LOCK or pick or it have been remove as a tiebreaker
Congratulation to DpOblivion for winning Tumblr's BGE 3 guru contest
Crescent nor terpaholic voted, so we'll continue using the lock for this week. But it might be gone next week if everyone remaining has voted against it.
Growing up, I wish some teacher told me "You probably won't ever need this, but if you don't learn it, you might miss out on something really cool."
I am against LOCK as a tiebreaker.
I have angry skills.
7/8 seems like a solid number.

Figured since I may not have the chance to post until kick-off tomorrow I'd go ahead and confirm this to make it clear I have received said pick (well, I assume that's what's in the PM since I haven't opened it yet), and I'll also take this opportunity to remind @Crescent-Moon that there's about 13 hours and 35 minutes at the time of this posting until the game starts Saturday assuming this listing of 4:35 PM EST I'm looking at for Falcons @ Eagles is accurate!
I don't think Crescent has been on since last Sunday.
Growing up, I wish some teacher told me "You probably won't ever need this, but if you don't learn it, you might miss out on something really cool."
I am not native to this community. I mostly only show up if I have a reason to or simply on a whim.

Considering the game starts in 30 minutes anyway.. I see no reason to bother with the PM.

1. Which team will win -- and by how much? Falcons 26, Eagles 20
2. Do you LOCK your pick in? Nope.
3. Pick a Spread that will make your team win in the event you both pick the wrong team - Falcons +3.5 (This would be them losing by a exactly field goal, to be certain?)
4. How many points will be scored in the game - 46
5. How many passing yards will be thrown in the game - 389
6. How many rushing yards will be rushed for in the game? - 225
Bonus: Do you wish to remove the LOCK tiebreaker? (A unanimous decision by all remaining players removes the LOCK tiebreaker) - Pretty useless as is. It would not be missed in this current format.
So we're all in agreement about the lock, then.

I think I misinterpreted the spread tiebreaker or I probably would have gone a little higher, so that's an oops.

Earlier this week I had the Falcons at 28 points but... That would assume 4 touchdowns and no field goals for a team that kicks a lot of field goals and struggles in the red zone, so I made it more realistic even if it might backfire. I have little faith in the Eagles' offense (That first-play fumble did not help their stock).

Of course the Falcons will probably settle for a field goal because it's what they do...
I advance!

Doubt either participant will pick the Titans tonight, and not that anyone cares what I think about tonight's game, but I want to go on the record as taking the Tennessee Titans WITH A LOCK!

I also picked the Colts in this league in that playoff game against the Chiefs a few years back when the Colts trailed at one point by 28. I feel pretty bad for whoever it was that lost out on that one.
