This is a gaming board, so I loaded the poll with (what I think might be) the five most popular game franchises on Board 8 and also included some of the most popular franchises in books, movies, and television. I'm clueless as to what wins - let's find out.

Edits: I thought about including the Marvel or DC universes, but lumping all those heroes and their worlds into 1/2 entrants seems unfair. Regardless, I'm probably still missing something obvious for the tenth spot.

Trails > all of these.

Either Persona or LotR from these though. Probably Persona since I don't actually care for the LotR books, only the movies.

No opinion on Harry Potter since I've never seen or read it.

Harry Potter and Game of Thrones are really close for me

Like I probably care more about the Game of Thrones show than I do the Harry Potter movies, but I also read all the Harry Potter books and haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire

Voted Harry Potter since that was such a big part of growing up for me

Not so much on this board, nah, but there are still like 11-12 of us who identify as at least casual fans and maybe half that who are pretty into it.

Game of Thrones with only 1 vote -- mine -- doesn't really surprise me either. It's big enough here but hardly anybody's favorite

You could've just put Batman by himself if you wanted some superhero representation instead of including the entire MCU or DC or whatever, honestly. He's the most popular one here.

Hmm surprising result IMO. This is a video game website, sure, but for me personally LotR and GoT are well out in front of anything from the world of games. ...and that's coming from a guy who hosts a whole podcast about the popularity of characters from the above series.

They're just not as big a deal here even among most of their fans, I think, because some of 'em are putting a game franchise ahead but still saying "yeah, I like that too". Some seem to be putting Harry Putter above 'em as well.

Most "multimedia franchises" are things I dont really enjoy very deeply because theyre designed to be so shallow as to appeal to the maximum number of people.

Pokemon being really one of the only exceptions because why not.
