i've gone back and forth on this. either zero or not zero. hope that's helpful!

Real question is, why do people have a second child 'because otherwise the first one will get lonely'?
i have no scientific evidence for any of this, but it's just kinda easier to pick up some social skills if they're interacting with siblings as early as possible. plus, the younger ones will want to "level up" their reading, coordination, things like that if they see an older sibling reading and playing with stuff
also a good opportunity to manually teach older siblings compassion and responsibility outside of school/before they are shuttled off to school and it's mostly out of your hands. i've been aware of parents who had no idea their only child was a bully/pest/whiner/unable to share/etc because they never saw the kid interacting with other kids
in the end it's just way easier to let the kids hang out with each other than having to schedule playdates/events constantly
at least, that's my perception
You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
