Circumcision prevents transfer of papillomavirus (HPV). Europe seems to have an aggressive program to curb HPV so guessing this makes the operation old fashioned.
Circumcision preventing or reducing transmissions of STDs is bullshit that has been debunked multiple times.

It was never really a thing in Europe (outside of specific religious groups). Never been part of the culture. To even consider it would have been highly unusual, and most doctors would have been puzzled and negative about a request ('why would you want that? It isn't necessary').

I think a lot of the arguments about hygiene and STDs come after the desire to circumcise. Rather than being the actual reason.

30-50% of those arrested at anti immigration protests in the UK have convictions for domestic abuse.
I'm not cut, but my parents didn't teach me cleanliness (or at least I never cared for it) so when I was 7 or 8 I learnt how to clean by myself. One day I decided to open up the skin (may have been the first time I've done that) and discovered some dried up nasty stuff under it that to this day gives me the chills. So if parents aren't going to cut, they need to instill cleanliness.

Why is it the wrong word for permanently removing a part of one's genitals when they're too young to even know what's happening, let alone consent to such a procedure, for purely cosmetic reasons? It does have an actual impact on the person too, it does lead to reduced sensation.

Foreskin is pretty tertiary as far as "part of the genitals" is concerned.

I'm circumcized myself and I don't necessarily hate how it looks. I just think it was the principal of the matter of not having a say in it and then forcing on me as a baby is what I hate most about it. According to my dad (who was a first generation immigrant that barely knew any English), all he heard from the doctor was that it was going to make me "cleaner" and didn't know about them snipping the dick. That's why he didn't have that with my other brothers.
Its not how it looks that bothers me, its that it makes the tip largely feel nothing. It has made sexual experiences an objectively worse thing for me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this sig.
This sig loves you.

I looked up the definition of tertiary, and Google is giving me some weird answers.

i don't understand the "it's easier to keep clean" argument
that's ridiculous in any normal man who has any sense of hygien at all

like, if you're having trouble with eye gunk in the morning, your first reaction shouldn't be to cut your eyelid off

I dont get this gunk youre talking about very often lol. I wouldnt look very good with no eye lids either. I imagine the health effects of having no eye lids is much worse.

"Third in importance" basically. There's sexual reproduction function, there's urinary function, and then there's the skin that covers the tip so it doesn't get dry or abraded or injured by nettles or thorns or whatever we would have worried about a million years ago.

Yeah, usually just an offhand comment about it. A woman mentions her ex and talks about how gross his uncut penis was. Or jokes about cheese dick, etc. Or how great of a guy he was but ot didn't work because she couldn't get past his "turtle neck" and how weird it was.

Related, I now know more about Felicia Day's sex life than I ever thought I would, because she streamed Cyberpunk 2077 and there's a cut/uncut option for V's penis in the character creator. She was...surprised at the difference.

As she said, "Obviously I've never been this close to an uncircumcised penis before."
I am the infinite stairwell between integers.
and any unneccessary operation carries risks with it

if you really want a horror show, google "failed circumcision"

Thanks for that.

I got that stuff up to a couple years ago no matter how many times I washed (literally daily). For some reason it just stopped producing, coincidentally around the same time I started having severe skin outbreaks of eczema which have to be controlled by self-injecting medication. I'm actually concerned by its sudden absence.

Ah, I see the CEmen that get offended by calling genital mutilation genital mutilation arrived.

If you read this signature, then that meant that I had control of what you read for 5 SECONDS!!

Not to be vulgar, but maybe that has to do with it being touched much more?

I get a bit if I don't wash thoroughly. But the first time it happened when I was 8, it was a monstrosity. It must have grown, and eventually, it became like a big crusty piece in the shape of a tic tac. It was nasty.
This topic does kind of make me wonder whether (American) CEtizens who have a son chose to break tradition in this regard, or were like "well muh pa had it done on me, so ah'm having it done on mah boy!"
One time, CE triggered me so hard with their objectively wrong opinions that I accidentally punched myself in the balls.

CE is pretty much in the minority. Most of America is following tradition, peer pressure, or just don't give a shit either direction.
